We are having our third and need a boy and girl name. We have twin girls, [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] and [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_f]Elinore[/name_f]. We would prefer to not have another ‘W.’ I like shorter, pronounceable, recognizable but not super common names. Some that are on the short list are [name_u]Piper[/name_u], [name_f]Sadie[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_u]Darby[/name_u]. Thoughts on these or other suggestions are so, so welcome! Thank you!
[name_u]Love[/name_u] your girls’ names! So sweet and spunky!
I adore the names on your short list. The only one I’m not thrilled about is [name_f]Sadie[/name_f]. I feel it’s a little too trendy and “cute” but lacks interest. It just feels too generic next to [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and [name_u]Wren[/name_u].
My favorites are [name_u]Piper[/name_u] and [name_u]Darby[/name_u] next to your girls’ names. They have a similar feel without being too matchy. [name_f]Margot[/name_f] has always been on my short list so I definitely have a sweet spot for it. I think it could definitely fit in with [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and [name_u]Wren[/name_u] but I just think [name_u]Piper[/name_u] and [name_u]Darby[/name_u] go a little better. That being said, I love [name_f]Margot[/name_f] as the middle name for either [name_u]Piper[/name_u] or [name_u]Darby[/name_u]!
I like [name_u]Piper[/name_u] or [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] as I like their nature connection-y sounds. That said, [name_u]Darby[/name_u] is the only name I think really doesn’t fit. [name_u]Darby[/name_u] sounds like [name_f]Willa[/name_f] & [name_u]Wren[/name_u]'s brother - [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and [name_u]Wren[/name_u] are both feminine without being frilly, while [name_u]Darby[/name_u] is quite unisex.
Between [name_u]Piper[/name_u] & [name_f]Sadie[/name_f], I don’t think you can go wrong, and I honestly don’t know which one I prefer!
Of the four on your short list, [name_u]Piper[/name_u] looks and sound best with [name_f]Willa[/name_f] & [name_u]Wren[/name_u] to me. [name_u]Piper[/name_u] is lovely.
A few other ideas: [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_u]Harper[/name_u], [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], [name_u]Sage[/name_u], [name_f]Briar[/name_f], [name_u]Eden[/name_u], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], [name_f]Isla[/name_f] & [name_u]Ruby[/name_u].
[name_u]Piper[/name_u] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] would both be very nice choices with [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and [name_u]Wren[/name_u]! Another poster mentioned [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] and I really like that with your daughters’ names as well!
Congrats! From your list, I think [name_u]Piper[/name_u] is the best with your sibset. It’s spunky and tailored, and I really like it.
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]: I really like this for you. It’s bright, lovely, and gives me the same vibe as [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] with the classic feel of [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. [name_f]Olive[/name_f]: Like many of your other favorites, this is a nature name with many popular sounds but that itself isn’t hugely popular. [name_f]Juno[/name_f]: The sounds and spunk of [name_f]Margot[/name_f], with the modern feel of [name_u]Wren[/name_u]. [name_f]Lola[/name_f]: Very sweet and short, but also quite spunky. This also makes me think of [name_f]Alma[/name_f]. [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]: Easily pronounced and quite uncommon, but not “out-there.” It has the “l” sound of many of your favorites, and is quite timeless. [name_f]Ayla[/name_f]: Very intuitive pronunciation, definitely not as popular as the alternate spelling, and lots of bright, modern spunk. Seems like a more feminine version of [name_u]Darby[/name_u]. [name_f]Flora[/name_f]: [name_f]Lovely[/name_f], timeless nature name. [name_f]Harlow[/name_f]: Easily pronounced, quite uncommon, but very stylish and modern. I also think of [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]. [name_f]Veda[/name_f]: Unusual, lively, simple to pronounce, and with a bold sound.
I think [name_u]Piper[/name_u] is a perfect fit with [name_u]Wren[/name_u] and [name_f]Willa[/name_f].
Some ideas (sorry for any repeats)
[name_f]Junia[/name_f]/[name_u]June[/name_u]/[name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_u]Peyton[/name_u]
[name_f]Thea[/name_f]
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_u]Piper[/name_u] are my favourites from your list - I think either one would match with your other girls perfectly! [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_u]Piper[/name_u] would make a cute combo, as well.
Thank you all! I think we are liking [name_u]Piper[/name_u] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] as well! Some other ideas that I liked were [name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f].
Is [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] becoming too popular or does it still fit in? Thoughts on [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] or [name_f]Hattie[/name_f]? I feel like [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] and [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] are more nicknames
I especially love [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Olive[/name_f] with the sister names. To my ear, [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] are a little more mainstream at this point. I would also really like [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and [name_f]Mae[/name_f] with this sister set.
I can’t quite pin down your style. Many of the names are vintage or old-fashioned, but [name_u]Wren[/name_u], [name_u]Piper[/name_u] and [name_u]Darby[/name_u] are more modern/unisex. From your list I think [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] is the bridge between those two worlds - it’s definitely vintage but seems fresh and modern.
