Could any one help with information on the name Heston? I am having real difficulties finding out where it originates from and the names meaning. I really like the name as it sounds strong and hansom.

I only know it as the surname of American actor [name]Charlton[/name] Heston (1923-2008), pictured here (sorry I don’t know how to embed the photo):

Certainly explains why you associate the name as being strong and handsome, right?? I haven’t heard this as a first name before, but I think it has real possibility! Very dashing!
Heston is an English surname meaning “one who came from Heston (a [name]London[/name] suburb.)” The suburb’s name is derived from the Old English hes “brushwood” + tun “enclosure”. Makes me think of Heston Blumenthal, the English chef and Restauranteur!
