[name]Hi[/name]! We are due in two weeks and while we have a short list of names, we are having a difficult time narrowing it down further. We have a boy named [name]Elijah[/name] [name]Seth[/name] ([name]Eli[/name]) and our last name starts with B. [name]One[/name] of our favorite name combinations, the monogram would be [name]ABE[/name]. Would we be setting her up for teasing?
First name options: [name]Abigail[/name] ([name]Abby[/name]), [name]Hannah[/name], [name]Elaina[/name] ([name]Laney[/name]), [name]Madelyn[/name] ([name]Maddie[/name]), [name]Norah[/name]
Middle name options: [name]Elaina[/name], [name]Elise[/name], [name]Ruth[/name]
I don’t think the initials would be a set up for teasing. Initials aren’t used that often, and unless you plan to monogram all of her things, it still wouldn’t be that big a deal.
Off of your list, I really like [name]Norah[/name] and [name]Abigail[/name]. A few combos:
[name]Norah[/name] [name]Elise[/name]
[name]Norah[/name] [name]Elaina[/name]
[name]Norah[/name] [name]Ruth[/name]
[name]Norah[/name] [name]Madelyn[/name]
[name]Abigail[/name] [name]Elaine[/name]
[name]Abigail[/name] [name]Elise[/name]
[name]Abigail[/name] [name]Ruth[/name]
A few suggestions:
[name]Sadie[/name]
[name]Adeline[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name]
[name]Claire[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Hope[/name] that helps! [name]Welcome[/name] to Namebery!
From your list, I really like [name]Abigail[/name] [name]Elise[/name]. I think it goes well with [name]Elijah[/name] [name]Seth[/name]. [name]Abby[/name] is also an adorable nickname. My second choice would be [name]Elaina[/name] [name]Ruth[/name] but it’s not as beautiful as [name]Abigail[/name] [name]Elise[/name]. Congrats.
castles, Yes, [name]Abigail[/name] [name]Elise[/name] has been my top name combination, but I’m not crazy about the monogram [name]ABE[/name], which is why I was asking about that. But, I do really like that name, so thanks for confirming my thoughts on it.
My favorite combo is [name]Norah[/name] [name]Elise[/name].
My second favorite combo would be [name]Elaina[/name] [name]Madelyn[/name] or [name]Elaina[/name] [name]Ruth[/name]. [name]Love[/name] love love the nn [name]Laney[/name]!!!
I would also like [name]Hannah[/name] [name]Elise[/name].
charliesmommy126, Thanks for all your suggestions! In addition to [name]Abigail[/name] [name]Elise[/name], [name]Hannah[/name] [name]Ruth[/name] is another one that I have been considering, but it is nice to see other combinations and I had not thought about using 3 names. As far as it being a Biblical name (while we do indeed like Biblical names), our son’s name is guiding us in that direction. He is adopted and it is amazing how he got his name. Now that we are having a biological child, I wanted them to be of similar origin to emphasize the fact that they are siblings.
[name]ABE[/name] isn’t terrible, she’ll be fine. I knew a boy in the 6th grade named [name]Felix[/name] [name]Aaron[/name] [name]Garcia[/name].
Now that’s bad. He still didn’t get made fun of too much. Possibly because he was popular.
Congratulations! You have a great short list-very lovely, classic names. I, too, don’t think the monogram issue is a big deal at all. I see no reason why anyone would ever tease her for it. Personally, I think [name]Maddie[/name] ([name]Madelyn[/name]) is beyond overused, although it’s such a sweet name, so it is a shame. Not sure if you care about popularity or not?
Of the others, I would choose [name]Norah[/name]! Definitely the most distinct of your choices [name]Norah[/name] [name]Elise[/name], [name]Nora[/name] [name]Madelyn[/name]? [name]Abigail[/name] would be my second choice, but there are a lot of little baby Abbys running around these days.
Have you ever considered the very Biblical [name]Sarah[/name]? Her nickname could be [name]Sadie[/name], which may seem like a huge stretch, but it is actually a traditional nickname for [name]Sarah[/name]. I have a friend named [name]Sarah[/name], called [name]Sadie[/name], and she’s the only one I’ve ever met. It has aged well, too, and she receives lots of compliments on her name, since it is pretty unique for my age group (college age). I know it is on the rise now, but is still not too common! [name]Eli[/name] and [name]Sadie[/name] sound adorable together
