I like [name_u]Francis[/name_u], but if you don’t like [name_m]Frank[/name_m], don’t name your son [name_u]Francis[/name_u]. Especially if you plan to call him [name_u]Frankie[/name_u], since men who go by -ie nicknames as children usually drop the -ie as adults.
I think [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] is too close to [name_m]Fabian[/name_m]. I think [name_m]Caius[/name_m] is totally fine, and you could call him [name_u]Cai[/name_u], which is less unusual.
[name_m]Calvin[/name_m] is fine, but I would find a [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] [ItalianName] a little weird since Italians are known for being really Catholic and [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] is super Protestant.
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_m]Mateo[/name_m]? It’s not super out there and it matches with your other sons without being too matchy.
Thanks for your input!
You’re right about [name_m]Calvin[/name_m]… reason why my hb doesn’t like it… I liked the alliteration but I think I will agree to cross it off.
Well I don’t HATE [name_m]Frank[/name_m] but I would rather he go by [name_u]Francis[/name_u] as an adult if he drops [name_u]Frankie[/name_u]. I see your point.
I agree [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] and [name_m]Fabian[/name_m] sound too similar I appreciate that you share my opinion so I can veto it to my hb!
Also appreciate the [name_m]Mateo[/name_m] suggestion. Hb is not a fan of names ending in “o” but I do like it.
Thanks:)
You’re welcome…good luck with picking a name!
Ooh, how about [name_m]Domenic[/name_m]? Feels Italian because it’s spelled like [name_m]Domenico[/name_m], but also works well in the US.
I like [name_m]Caius[/name_m] a lot here but I can see why husband finds it a little “out there”. I personally like old lesser used names, but I can see how this one crosses the threshold for some.
[name_m]Adrian[/name_m] fits the set well and has an -n ending like your other boy’s name, but I definitely feel your concern about it matching [name_m]Fabian[/name_m] too closely (great name btw!) Too bad hb doesn’t like [name_m]Desmond[/name_m] because it would be a pretty nice fit.
[name_m]Adrian[/name_m] is my vote but! I think it would be worth looking for something similar to [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] that isn’t [name_m]Adrian[/name_m]
Suggestions:
[name_u]Tristan[/name_u]
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]/[name_m]Bastian[/name_m]
[name_m]Gideon[/name_m]
[name_m]Soren[/name_m]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] (might just be mainstream enough for hb)
[name_m]Simon[/name_m] (maybe too similar to [name_m]Roman[/name_m]?)
[name_m]Christian[/name_m]
[name_m]Declan[/name_m]
[name_m]Gavin[/name_m]
I like both [name_m]Caius[/name_m] and [name_u]Francis[/name_u] but voted for the former because I love the alliteration! I think it’s short and simple enough not to feel too “out there”, while still having the ancient gravitas of your other boys’ names.
[name_m]Adrian[/name_m] is rather similar to [name_m]Fabian[/name_m]… A few more ideas:
[name_m]Samson[/name_m]
[name_m]Cassian[/name_m]/[name_m]Cassius[/name_m]
[name_m]Magnus[/name_m]
[name_m]Evander[/name_m]
[name_m]Lucian[/name_m]
[name_u]August[/name_u]
[name_m]Ambrose[/name_m]
[name_m]Phineas[/name_m]
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m]
[name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m]
[name_m]Lorcan[/name_m]
I choose [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] because it seemed to fit best with your other kids names. However, I agree it is a bit too similar…
