HELP with twin girl names!

We are expecting twin girls soon and are really stuck on a name pairing that goes well together, but doesn’t start with the same letter or rhyme, and sounds good with their siblings. We have two older boys named [name_m]Landon[/name_m] and [name_m]Brooks[/name_m]. Our last name is somewhat long and sounds [name_m]German[/name_m]. I tend to like traditional modern names but haven’t decided on anything I’m 100% in love with yet. I would also like something that is NOT in the top 10, or headed that way.

If they were born tomorrow, I would probably end up using:
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] (also like [name_f]Claire[/name_f] but not with [name_f]Rose[/name_f])
and
[name_u]Everly[/name_u] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
(great-grandma’s name was [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] and I like [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Evie[/name_f] or [name_u]Ever[/name_u] for a nickname but do wonder if [name_u]Everly[/name_u] is getting super popular)

Here are the others I was considering:
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]
(both too popular right now)
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] (grandmother’s name)
[name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Adela[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] (after my mother)
[name_f]Coraline[/name_f]
[name_f]Greta[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliana[/name_f] ([name_f]Ellie[/name_f])
[name_f]Giselle[/name_f] ([name_f]Elle[/name_f] for short)
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] (may be to long with our last name)

Please help!

I prefer [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] to [name_u]Everly[/name_u], but both are pretty.

Other suggestion:
[name_f]Lila[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]/[name_f]Leonora[/name_f]/[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] - my favorite long form being [name_f]Lilith[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]/[name_f]Cecily[/name_f]/[name_f]Cicely[/name_f]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f]
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f] or [name_u]Piper[/name_u]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f]
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u]
[name_f]Gianna[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]

My favorites for middles are [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]. As for twin combos, my faves are:
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]/[name_u]Piper[/name_u] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] (I die for this one)

We have a similar taste so I’m very interested on what you decide!

I think with [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is a better name for her twin than [name_u]Everly[/name_u].
From your list how about…
[name_f]Adela[/name_f] and [name_f]Giselle[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliana[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] (or [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] because it’s less popular)
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_f]Giselle[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliana[/name_f]

Others…
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Elinor[/name_f]
[name_f]Hope[/name_f]
[name_f]Heidi[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f]
[name_u]Haven[/name_u]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Nadia[/name_f]
[name_f]Sienna[/name_f]
[name_f]Leah[/name_f]

Hmm. Since you like [name_u]Everly[/name_u]'s nicknames but worry about its popularity, why not just use [name_f]Eve[/name_f]? That way it could also be a subtle nod to your grandmother’s name, [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] would go really well together. Something like [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Adela[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] would be pretty.

I love [name_f]Giselle[/name_f], [name_f]Eliana[/name_f], [name_f]Adela[/name_f], and [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] from your list! [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] especially is one of my favorites that deserves some use.

I think [name_u]Everly[/name_u] is really the outlier from your list. Most of your girl names are feminine, traditional, vintage, a little romantic. [name_u]Everly[/name_u] is new, unisex, surname, trendy. It’s a nice name, but I think if I saw [name_m]Landon[/name_m], [name_m]Brooks[/name_m], [name_u]Everly[/name_u], and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] on paper, I’d assume it was three boys and a girl.

I think [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is great!

These are my favorite combinations:

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] and
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]

[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]

[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] and
[name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Coraline[/name_f]

[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] and
[name_f]Giselle[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]

Here’s an idea- name one of the twins [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] after your grandmother! You can use [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Evie[/name_f], and [name_u]Ever[/name_u] as nicknames for [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]! If this doesn’t appeal to you, I would use [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] instead of [name_u]Everly[/name_u].

I like [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and [name_u]Everly[/name_u] but I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the suggestion of [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]. You could shorten them to [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Millie[/name_f].

I like [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] ([name_f]Vivi[/name_f]) or [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] (no nicknames, beautiful as is).

Thanks so much for the responses! I actually had no idea that [name_u]Everly[/name_u] was also a boy’s name and that has made me reconsider it quite a bit. Thank you also for the [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] nickname suggestions as well, I didn’t think of [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Evie[/name_f] or [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] and the options are making me really like it more. Thank you!!

[name_m]How[/name_m] about:

[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]

[name_m]Just[/name_m] a thought

I think [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] are a smart Match. Those sound similar in style to me but different enough to not be cutesy. I think [name_u]Everly[/name_u] is getting too popular, but that’s just me.

[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_u]Everly[/name_u] and [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]

I’m not sure where you live, but in the United States, the name [name_u]Everly[/name_u] has not even ranked in the top 1000 names given to boys for any year of birth beginning with 2000 according to the U.S. Social Security Administration. So it’s pretty insignificant as far as boys names are concerned in the U.S.

On the other hand, [name_u]Everly[/name_u] ranked 138 in the U.S. in names given to girls in 2015, totaling 2315 female births. But representing only 0.120% of total female births for that year. In 2014, it ranked 178 for girls names given. In 2013, [name_u]Everly[/name_u] ranked 379 among girls born that year. And in 2012, it ranked 905 for girls. And although [name_u]Everly[/name_u] is gaining popularity among names given to girls in the U.S., it is still nowhere near the top 10 popular names here that you stated you wanted to avoid. At 138 for the last recorded year, it has a long way to go to get there. In fact, [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is more popular than [name_u]Everly[/name_u] among girls born in the U.S., ranking 98 in the last year recorded. But again, far from being near the top 10.

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name [name_u]Everly[/name_u]! I am currently pregnant with a baby girl, and I have so many friends who love that name too, as it seems to top quite a few of my friend’s lists of name recommendations for me. Yet, I don’t personally know any [name_u]Everly[/name_u]'s, despite living in heavily populated Southern [name_u]California[/name_u], and having a preschool age son involved in many activities, putting us in contact with lots and lots of little kiddos. I much prefer [name_u]Everly[/name_u] to [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], hands-down. I think it’s so pretty. And [name_u]Ever[/name_u] is an adorable nickname.

I like [name_u]Everly[/name_u] with [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. And [name_u]Everly[/name_u] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is lovely. [name_u]Everly[/name_u] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] are cute together too, and in my opinion, work well with your sibset. [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] falls just outside of the top 10 girls names for the last year recorded.

Another idea might be [name_u]Everly[/name_u] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] and [name_u]Piper[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] which I think is cute.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps. You have great taste in names! Best wishes to you!!

You’ve got some great names to work with! I’m not sure I like current combinations though: for [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], the r sounds run together a bit, and [name_u]Everly[/name_u] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] seems a bit choppy in flow.

With [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] and [name_m]Landon[/name_m], shorter first names might sound more fresh: [name_f]Evie[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f].

Or, since it’s two girls versus two guys, you could change up the naming style and go with longer, more feminine first names: [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. They could still have short nicknames: [name_f]Evie[/name_f] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f].

Thank you 1st_on_the_way for clarifying! We also live in SoCal and I don’t know any [name_u]Everly[/name_u] girls either but love the name. [name_f]Glad[/name_f] you don’t think it’s too masculine, and based on the numbers you gave, it’s really not. I think the [name_u]Everly[/name_u] Brothers maybe make people associate it with a boy’s name. Often times people think [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] is a girl name so we already deal with that a bit. Thanks for your input!

My favs are:

[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Greta[/name_f]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Grace[/name_f]

I’d probably go with [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Greta[/name_f] from your list.

Suggestions based on your style:[name_f]Kara[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_f]Amy[/name_f] Roselia

oftenoverseas I love your suggestions and agree that the flow wasn’t quite right. I’m not crazy about the nickname [name_f]Cora[/name_f], I wondered what your second choice name would be to go with [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. And if I did a longer name for [name_f]Evie[/name_f] (with [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]) and just called her that for short, like [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] or [name_u]Everly[/name_u], what middle name would you pair with those? Thank you!!

just some suggestions

[name_f]Emilie[/name_f]
[name_f]Fleur[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_u]Juli[/name_u]ëtte/[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f]
[name_u]Maxime[/name_u]
[name_f]Frederique[/name_f]
[name_f]Valerie[/name_f]
[name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and [name_u]Everly[/name_u] are adorable! I can’t even imagine [name_u]Everly[/name_u] on a boy, it’s all girl to me! I seem to be in the minority here. I associate [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] more with boys than girls. I also like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] from your list. You like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], but like you pointed out, it’s really popular. I like someone’s suggestion of [name_f]Amelie[/name_f], and I’m wondering how you feel about [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]? I love it, it is my favorite girls name right now. Or maybe even [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], you could call her [name_f]Emma[/name_f] too.

Any suggestions on middle names that might work better if we did go with [name_f]Clara[/name_f]/[name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_u]Everly[/name_u]? What about a middle for [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]? Thank you!
