Help with unusual boys names!!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] berries,

DH & I are TTC #2 soon and have been brainstorming names but we are stuck on boys names. Our daughter is [name_u]Finley[/name_u] (middle name is distinctive so I won’t share, but it is a unisex single syllable name) and our last name is short, rhyming with “air”. Hit me with your suggestions for first or middle names, or both!

To give you an idea of our style, the following names are the only ones we have agreed on:
[name_f]Kodiak[/name_f] (nn [name_u]Kody[/name_u], I love this one)
[name_m]York[/name_m] (I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]York[/name_m], DH likes it)
[name_m]Charleston[/name_m] (nn [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], DH loves but I’m on the fence - not a huge fan of [name_u]Charlie[/name_u])
[name_m]Bauer[/name_m]/[name_m]Bower[/name_m] (only as a middle name)

Top contenders if we have another girl: [name_u]Holland[/name_u] or [name_u]August[/name_u]

We like uncommon names that are easy to pronounce and spell. I like the single syllable names ([name_m]York[/name_m], [name_m]Fox[/name_m], [name_u]Wren[/name_u]) for middle names because it goes with our daughters short mn, but they don’t have to match so we’re open to suggestions. Thanks!

[name_f]Kodiak[/name_f] [name_m]Wolfe[/name_m] or [name_f]Kodiak[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] would be great!! [name_m]Charleston[/name_m] [name_m]Bower[/name_m] or [name_m]Charleston[/name_m] [name_u]Beau[/name_u] would be nice too!! Charleston could have the nn Chase or Chad instead of Charlie too

Some suggestions

[name_m]Edison[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfe[/name_m]
[name_m]Judson[/name_m] [name_m]Fox[/name_m]
[name_u]Arlo[/name_u] [name_m]Reeves[/name_m]
[name_m]Halston[/name_m] [name_u]Reed[/name_u]
[name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] [name_m]Fox[/name_m]
[name_m]Killian[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

Here are my thoughts:

[name_f]Kodiak[/name_f] (nn [name_u]Kody[/name_u], I love this one)-This is kind of cool. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any connection to [name_f]Alaska[/name_f]?

[name_m]York[/name_m] (I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]York[/name_m], DH likes it)-This is different. It’s not my personal favorite, but sort of neat.

[name_m]Fox[/name_m]-This is cool. A little matchy w/[name_u]Finley[/name_u], but not a deal breaker.

[name_u]Wren[/name_u]-I don’t know about this. I feel w/like a unisex name for your daughter, you should stick w/a more masculine name for your son.

[name_m]Wolfe[/name_m]-This is not my style. A little too harsh, but fine as a mn. [name_m]Fox[/name_m] is just sleeker to use an animal name.

[name_m]Charleston[/name_m] (nn [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], DH loves but I’m on the fence - not a huge fan of [name_u]Charlie[/name_u])-Aw, I love [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]. If you don’t like [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] but do like [name_m]Charleston[/name_m], what about the nn [name_m]Chet[/name_m]? Or [name_u]Cal[/name_u]?

[name_m]Bauer[/name_m]/[name_m]Bower[/name_m] (only as a middle name)-Sounds good as a mn.

Other suggestions:

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

[name_m]Todd[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Fox[/name_m])
Wolfram (nn [name_m]Wolfe[/name_m])
[name_m]Quilliam[/name_m] (nn Quil)
Hawkins (nn [name_m]Hawk[/name_m])
[name_m]Barron[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Bear[/name_m])
[name_m]Clayton[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Clay[/name_m])
[name_m]Redmond[/name_m] (nn [name_u]Red[/name_u])

[name_u]Love[/name_u] the suggestion of [name_m]Birch[/name_m]! I would suggest [name_m]Cadoc[/name_m]. I think either [name_m]Birch[/name_m] or [name_m]Cadoc[/name_m] would sound great as a brother to a [name_u]Finley[/name_u]. I do also like the suggestion of [name_u]Grady[/name_u].

I really like [name_m]York[/name_m] [name_m]Bauer[/name_m] and [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]. Both are very distinctive names.

What about …

[name_m]Wolfe[/name_m] [name_m]Bauer[/name_m] sounds like a simple yet stylized and unique name. I also quite like the fact that [name_m]Wolfe[/name_m] is spelled that way, since it’s a last name as first. I feel like that fits in with [name_u]Finley[/name_u] quite well and I can imagine them as a sibset.

For [name_m]Charleston[/name_m], I’d suggest the nn of [name_f]Chara[/name_f] or [name_m]Stone[/name_m]. Suggestions are:

[name_m]Carmelo[/name_m] (nn [name_f]Karma[/name_f]/[name_m]Milo[/name_m])
[name_u]Barrett[/name_u] (nn [name_m]Bear[/name_m])
