Help-would addie work as nickname for audelia?

[name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I can’t agree. I was thinking [name_f]Odelia[/name_f] (oh-del-leah) and he loves addie. Would it work if we changed the spelling to Audelia (aw-del-leah) and called her addie? Is that too much of a stretch?
Our other option was adrielle, which I just don’t love as much.

Also-thinking [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] or [name_f]Kate[/name_f] for a middle name. Thoughts?

I love Audelia [name_f]Kate[/name_f]! I’m not so sure [name_f]Addie[/name_f] would work as a nickname though, maybe [name_u]Audie[/name_u]?

That’s cute! I’ll see what husbands thoughts are. Thanks!

You could go with [name_f]Adelia[/name_f] too! It’s an elaboration of [name_f]Adele[/name_f]. Either way I think [name_f]Addie[/name_f] works perfectly fine with Audelia, the look of the spelling isn’t my favorite but it’s also not bad either. [name_f]Addie[/name_f] doesn’t really work well for [name_f]Odelia[/name_f] (I have her on my list too, she’s just gorgeous) since your pronouncing it OH and [name_f]Addie[/name_f] I’m assuming as ADD-ee, but if you really love it as a nn who cares it’s just a nn use it if you want to

This is a great idea!

Audelia ‘Addie’ could work - the letters are there, and sound wise it makes sense (a bit like Amy for Amelia, Sadie for Sarah, Kate for Katherine etc)

Audelia Kate it sweet

I think it would be mispronounced sometimes. What about [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f]?

I think [name_f]Addie[/name_f] as a nn for Audelia is totally fine.

[name_f]My[/name_f] first thought would be [name_u]Audie[/name_u]. Since you are pronouncing her like [name_f]Odelia[/name_f], [name_f]Addie[/name_f] feels a bit stretched.
What about [name_f]Adelia[/name_f] or [name_f]Adela[/name_f] too?
