Everyone seems to be shooting down every name we come up with. I don’t know if it is us or if people are having a hard time understand our style. We are going to give a list of the names we are considering for boys and please tell us if they work with the LN [name]Kane[/name] and whether or not it works with our other children’s names and if they feel like cowboy names to you. Please give honest opinions but be gentle! We are having a real difficult time with this, we are not even sure on the girl’s names anymore Here is what we have so far:
[name]Amos[/name]
[name]Abram[/name]
[name]Abraham[/name] - All 3 of these A names are my favorites
[name]Addison[/name] - Is this too girly?
[name]Avery[/name] - Same as [name]Addison[/name]
[name]Blake[/name]
[name]Boone[/name] - DHs favorite
[name]Brooks[/name] - We both have a soft spot for this one but we are afraid it is too feminine
[name]Callum[/name]
[name]Calvin[/name]
[name]Clive[/name]
[name]Dakota[/name]
[name]Garrett[/name] - This is DH’s name but he goes by [name]Gary[/name] so I don’t think it would be a problem
[name]Lincoln[/name]
[name]Logan[/name]
You are welcome to make suggestions but keep them less than 5 or we just get too overwhelmed. Sorry if I am being difficult but I will be 35 weeks on [name]Wednesday[/name] and the doctors told us 36 weeks is full term with twins and I went into labor with my first set of twins ([name]Dean[/name] and [name]Paisley[/name]) at 37 weeks to the day so we are feeling the pressure to pick!
I love [name]Amos[/name] [name]Garrett[/name] [name]Kane[/name] or [name]Lincoln[/name] [name]Garrett[/name] [name]Kane[/name]. I also love [name]Brooks[/name], but I feel like it doesn’t match your other boy names. And [name]Addison[/name] to me seems too feminine now. [name]Amos[/name] [name]Boone[/name] would be cute, too! Good luck!
Have you thought about [name]Burke[/name] or [name]Beckett[/name]?
[name]Don[/name]'t use the fathers name, it could cause problems later.
[name]Blake[/name] and [name]Kane[/name] don’t sound right together, not with [name]Blake[/name] being a first name.
Since you used very masculine names for your other sons I’d say [name]Abraham[/name] [name]Blake[/name] [name]Kane[/name] & [name]Brooks[/name] [name]Lincoln[/name] [name]Kane[/name].
They’re not too cowboyish either. And I don’t think [name]Brooks[/name] is to effeminate.
Awww, I’m sorry you’re having a lot of trouble with this. I can feel your pain… [name]Boone[/name] is one of my favorites and it’s never really gotten great reviews anywhere. It’s definitely not a [name]Berry[/name] favorite, but I still think it’s a great name–besides, [name]Daniel[/name] [name]Boone[/name] is a great namesake! I still really love [name]Boone[/name] for you and [name]Boone[/name] [name]Avery[/name] [name]Kane[/name] is a great name! I don’t think I would worry about unisex names like [name]Addison[/name] or [name]Avery[/name] (which I [name]LOVE[/name] on boys, btw!) if you use them in the MN spot.
I like the idea of using [name]Garrett[/name] in the MN spot to honor your husband, and I love [name]Brooks[/name], too. I obviously wouldn’t do [name]Boone[/name] and [name]Brooks[/name] as they’re quite similar but if you don’t do [name]Boone[/name] I think [name]Brooks[/name] is a great alternative (and no, not too girly at all! [name]Brooks[/name] and [name]Brooke[/name] are very different to me!). I like [name]Calvin[/name] or [name]Lincoln[/name] for [name]Boone[/name]'s twin. I think [name]Calvin[/name] [name]Amos[/name], [name]Lincoln[/name] [name]Garrett[/name], and [name]Lincoln[/name] [name]Amos[/name] would be great.
For what it’s worth, [name]Boone[/name] [name]Avery[/name] and [name]Lincoln[/name] [name]Amos[/name] would get my vote, but if you want to honor your husband, I think [name]Boone[/name] [name]Avery[/name] and [name]Lincoln[/name] [name]Garrett[/name] would be great.
Also–keep in mind… a lot of the people on Nameberry have a particular style of names they like… just because you love a name that most Berries don’t doesn’t mean it isn’t a great name! A lot of people on here are sick of the popular [name]Isabelle[/name], [name]Ava[/name], [name]Ella[/name], [name]Sophie[/name], [name]Olivia[/name], etc… a lot of those actually happen to be my favorites. There is usually a reason why people on here don’t like a name, and a good amount of the time it’s not because the name is bad. All your names are really great names that will serve your children well, and they fit incredibly well with your current children’s names. I wouldn’t go searching for the perfect name that every person on here will approve of because that name likely doesn’t exist! [name]Just[/name] look for the names you will love and take everything we all say on here with a grain of salt. I don’t think you can go wrong with ANY of the names on this list, actually. (But my two favorites are definitely [name]Boone[/name] and [name]Lincoln[/name]! I hope you stick to your guns and use [name]Boone[/name] [name]Avery[/name], especially if you love it as much as it sounded like you did when you left me that message. :P)
DH really wants to keep [name]Boone[/name] and I love [name]Boone[/name] [name]Avery[/name]! [name]Lincoln[/name] [name]Garrett[/name] is nice and I also like the suggestion of [name]Amos[/name] [name]Garrett[/name]. I like [name]Calvin[/name] as well but I am afraid [name]Calvin[/name] [name]Kane[/name] is a little sing songy and a lot like [name]Calvin[/name] Klein. [name]Do[/name] you like think [name]Boone[/name] sounds mismatched with [name]Dean[/name] and [name]Russell[/name]?
Congratulations on your coming twins! I want to be helpful, but I’m having a hard time choosing among these names, so I’ll try not to say too much. As far as matching your other sons’ names, I think [name]Blake[/name], [name]Calvin[/name], [name]Lincoln[/name] and [name]Logan[/name] work best. [name]Dean[/name] and [name]Russell[/name] seem to me to be familiar but non-trendy, masculine but not macho-cowboy, and I think these four best match that feeling in my mind. (But I know not everyone has the same image of the same name!) Of those four, however, I really don’t think [name]Blake[/name] works well with [name]Kane[/name]. [name]Blake[/name] [name]Kane[/name] is difficult to say. I think the same about [name]Clive[/name] and (unfortunately) [name]Boone[/name]. I think my personal favorite of the four is [name]Lincoln[/name]–[name]Lincoln[/name] [name]Boone[/name] [name]Kane[/name], [name]Lincoln[/name] [name]Brooks[/name] [name]Kane[/name] or [name]Lincoln[/name] [name]Garrett[/name] [name]Kane[/name]. But don’t let others’ opinions bend you too much out of shape. Have you tried these names out on any close relatives or friends–the people who will actually interact with the babies, the people whose opinions are really important to you? Also, if you can get the names down to two or three favorites, why not wait to meet the babies and decide then? That method works well for some people. Best wishes!
Wow, three more posts since I started mine! I missed a bit of that discussion. What I said still applies, but I’d like to add that if you love [name]Boone[/name] [name]Avery[/name], go for it! I’d like to see more boy Averys around ([name]Charlotte[/name]'s [name]Web[/name], anyone? [name]Fern[/name]'s brother is all boy!) I think [name]Dean[/name], [name]Russell[/name] and [name]Boone[/name] work fine together. [name]Boone[/name] [name]Kane[/name] is a bit matchy because of the single syllables and the two -n endings, but if that doesn’t bother you, again, go for it!
We have talked to others about the names and [name]Boone[/name] and [name]Lincoln[/name] have gotten pretty mixed reviews. Everyone like the NN [name]Abe[/name] but they cannot decide whether or no they like [name]Abram[/name] or [name]Abraham[/name]. [name]Logan[/name] has been a big hit but I am not sure it fits. I like the idea of [name]Boone[/name] [name]Avery[/name] and [name]Abraham[/name] [name]Garrett[/name], but I don’t know if they work together…
I like [name]Boone[/name] [name]Avery[/name] and [name]Abraham[/name] [name]Garrett[/name]! If you are worried about the length of [name]Abraham[/name] [name]Garrett[/name] why not go with [name]Abram[/name] [name]Garrett[/name] or [name]Amos[/name] [name]Garrett[/name]?
I like [name]Brooks[/name] and [name]Boone[/name] I wouldn’t use [name]Addison[/name] or [name]Avery[/name] I also love [name]Callum[/name]…not crazy about [name]Lincoln[/name]… I wish you luck… this is not an easy theme…

Please give honest opinions but be gentle! We are having a real difficult time with this, we are not even sure on the girl’s names anymore Here is what we have so far:
[name]Amos[/name] I think [name]Amos[/name] [name]Kane[/name] is perfect
[name]Abram[/name] Quite nice nn of [name]Bram[/name] modern/trendy
[name]Abraham[/name] - Quite nice and [name]Abraham[/name] [name]Kane[/name] is grand
[name]Addison[/name] - Is this too girly? Yes, sorry and out for girls too
[name]Avery[/name] - I think it has gone to the girls
[name]Blake[/name] Is a nice name [name]Blake[/name] [name]Kane[/name] may be a little ‘k’ heavy for example [name]Beckett[/name] [name]Kane[/name] although it has two k’s like the previous combo works better because [name]Beckett[/name] is a longer name.
[name]Boone[/name] - DHs favorite [name]Daniel[/name] [name]Boone[/name] was a big favourite of mine as a kid and we all wanted coon skin hats with the tail so we could enact the adventures of [name]Daniel[/name] if it was me I would like [name]Daniel[/name] [name]Kane[/name].
[name]Brooks[/name] - [name]Brooks[/name] [name]Kane[/name] is fine I don’t find it overly cowboy style
[name]Callum[/name] I am not fond of [name]Callum[/name]
[name]Calvin[/name] [name]Calvin[/name] [name]Kane[/name] is nice but not sure about [name]Cal[/name] [name]Kane[/name]
[name]Clive[/name] [name]Clive[/name] [name]Kane[/name] is nice
[name]Dakota[/name] I feel this is one for the girls
[name]Garrett[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this! and [name]Rhett[/name] [name]Kane[/name] for your son would sound great, instead of nn [name]Gary[/name]
[name]Hi[/name] again and I am sorry that you are having such a tough time with naming your baby (partly because of us), but I hope that we can give you some constructive help.
I like nearly all the names you listed, [name]Callum[/name] is out for me, as is [name]Addison[/name] and [name]Dakota[/name].
I can see a trend coming through from you. It seems that you love the sound of C and names that end in an N, and the trouble with this is that it can be too repetitive with your surname [name]Kane[/name].
I would get away from the C and N sounds. That is why [name]Garrett[/name] is so good it avoids the repetitive sounds in the surname. I love [name]Garrett[/name], really love it.
I will have a think about more names and list five later.
Okay still thinking that you may be interested in cowboy style names so I looked up all the famous cowboys.
I was suprised to find that [name]Wild[/name] [name]Bill[/name] Hickok was not named [name]William[/name] ie [name]Bill[/name] at all but [name]James[/name] [name]Butler[/name] Hickok. Suggest [name]James[/name] [name]Butler[/name] [name]Kane[/name]
or [name]Jesse[/name] [name]William[/name] [name]Kane[/name], [name]Jesse[/name] [name]Kane[/name]
[name]Ezra[/name] [name]Kane[/name]/[name]Amos[/name] [name]Kane[/name] sound similar to me with a longer middle name.
Then there was [name]Oliver[/name] Loving, [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Kane[/name] is wonderful
[name]Wyatt[/name] [name]Kane[/name] seems like a good fit, [name]Wyatt[/name] [name]Avery[/name] [name]Kane[/name], [name]Wyatt[/name] [name]Ryder[/name] [name]Kane[/name]
I love your names! I found your style inspiring. I love [name]Boone[/name] but maybe it does not go so well with [name]Kane[/name]. [name]Amos[/name] [name]Kane[/name] sounds great though.
