My girlfriend and I are expecting a baby at the end of the summer. We have decided not to find out the gender. While we agree on a first name for a girl, we cannot find boys names that we both love or a middle name for a girl!
For a girl, we are using the first name [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. I would like to honor a family member with the middle, but I am open to anything that flows well and we both agree on. I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name [name_u]Wren[/name_u], which honors my grandfather, but my girlfriend just isn’t sold on it. I wouldn’t mind honoring my grandmother, [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] or my mother, [name_f]Melanie[/name_f] [name_f]Dawn[/name_f], or my girlfriend’s mom [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] [name_u]Lindsay[/name_u]. She likes [name_f]Beverly[/name_f], which I vetoed years ago. She is of Italian descent and likes the name [name_f]Marietta[/name_f] too. While I like the name, I’m just not sold on how long [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Marietta[/name_f] (one syllable lastname hyphen two syllable last name) is. Other names we like, but don’t love:

As for boys, we are completely lost. I like surnames as first names ([name_u]Porter[/name_u], [name_m]Archer[/name_m], [name_m]Wilder[/name_m], etc) and more out-there names like [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] (honors my mom in a special way, but girlfriend isn’t super into it). As for people to honor, I would love to use my grandmother’s maiden name, [name_m]Harris[/name_m] or honor my brother [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]. She likes much more traditional names like [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]. While I like [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m], her older sister also loves the name, and I don’t want to step on her toes. Some names we like are:
