Okay, so my friend is having a baby boy in late [name_u]August[/name_u]. She adores the name [name_m]Seamus[/name_m] but she is a little bit on the fence because she lives here in the US, and she’s afraid people might think it’s weird for an American boy to be named [name_m]Seamus[/name_m].

I think it would be totally fine for her to name her son that, but what are your thoughts? Also, what are some other names she could use instead, and maybe even middle names for [name_m]Seamus[/name_m]?

I mean [name_m]Shamus[/name_m] is the American version of the name Sheamus is a bit better maybe if you’re worried. But its a pretty common enough name that [name_m]Seamus[/name_m] won’t throw anybody off especially if you’re from [name_u]New[/name_u] [name_f]England[/name_f] in the States.

I live in [name_u]New[/name_u] [name_m]York[/name_m], and I know a little [name_m]Seamus[/name_m]! I think it’s a handsome name. I think it could absolutely work, it is an easy correction if anyone has issues with it. If she loves it, she should use it!

(Sheamus could also work because it has ‘[name_u]Shea[/name_u]’ in it, but I honestly prefer the look of [name_m]Seamus[/name_m]!)

I think it works! He can also go by [name_u]Shea[/name_u] as a backup plan!

Seamus would work fine! I think people would learn the pronunciation.
