Using a name they don’t like to try and honor people is not going to get them to like her. JoLeece just sounds and looks made up and will be confusing for the rest of the child’s life.
Jolise could work.
Other possibilities:
- [name_u]Josie[/name_u] = JOE + LISA
- [name_f]Jolie[/name_f] = JOE + LISA

[name_f]Jolie[/name_f] as others have suggested is a much better alternative! Jolise, as you’ve suggested, is a much better spelling!
It would be better in the middle position though.

I love the suggestion of [name_f]Jolie[/name_f] waaaaay better. You could even go with [name_f]Joliet[/name_f].

Awe I don’t think JoLeece is really that bad. It has a nice sound. I do prefer your spelling Jolise though. Maybe she will tire of it before it’s time to name the baby but I think it’s sweet that she’s trying to honor the family. It’s got to be hard if they they don’t like her much! [name_f]Jolene[/name_f] is another similar sounding name.
