Thoughts on Delilah/Lilah? I have 10 year old twins (f/m) with more unusual names (Inca/Pax). Is it too common? Other favourites are [name_f]Cilka[/name_f], [name_f]Naia[/name_f], [name_f]Delphi[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband Loves [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] (Lilah or [name_f]Della[/name_f] for short). We are not religious so ignoring the bible story. Thoughts?
I prefer [name_f]Cilka[/name_f] but like [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] and love [name_f]Lilah[/name_f]. [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] has become so commonplace though.
I think [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] is lovely a really nice name but I do agree with others [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] which is gorgeous works better in your sibling set
Suggestions: [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f], [name_f]Hebe[/name_f] and [name_f]Circe[/name_f] I think you may like those names!
Good luck
I think [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] is a gorgeous name! However I’m personally not fond on [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] and think some of the other names on your list are more suited to go with your twins names!! I think [name_f]Naia[/name_f] goes beautifully with Inca and [name_u]Pax[/name_u]!
@bonnie_pockley I think [name_f]Cilka[/name_f] is pretty i have Ashkenazi heritage and am familiar with [name_f]Cilka[/name_f] being an older woman’s name if that makes sense. I think In Eastern Europe this name would be ‘vintage’ and feels a bit random to me I think [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] & [name_f]Naia[/name_f] work better with your boys who have more ‘modern names’ if that makes sense. Hopefully that helps!
Thanks lovely! Yes, it does make sense. Inca is actually a girl and [name_u]Pax[/name_u] is a boy. I still love [name_f]Cilka[/name_f] so much. Particularly with [name_f]Cilka[/name_f] Sadar.
May I also ask is Cilka is in fact pronounced Silk-a? Because I still love it so much, is it vintage like Agnes and Matilda or other equivalents or more like Beth, Dorothy etc. could it be revived?! I’ve come across a young Silke and Cilka Sadar.
I think [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] is beautiful! It’s a great name and has some cute nickname options. It is increasing in popularity so it will most likely be much more popular than your other kid’s names. If that doesn’t bother you I think it’s a great name. [name_f]Della[/name_f] as a nickname might work well because then you can have a more unusual name for her nickname!
Inca and Pax are beautiful together
I can see that Delilah compared to those names might feel a little too popular but if you really love the name I dont think that it should stop you from using it
