I have been trying to like my character Eloi Durant I really have but I kinda hate him because he is so annoying and he won’t listen (I know that doesnt make sense considering he is not an actual person he is a character I created but its like he has a mind of his own) so I could use some help because rn I’m really considering just killing him so I’d like to know does anyone have
A - some ideas on ways to have him die the more brutal and awful the better i need to decide on 6 to actully kill him because he has 6/7 lives left
Or
B - Ideas on how to fix him and the stupid attitude he is giving me if im not gonna kill him he needs to be fixed and stop being a stupid annoying boring bland frustrating stuck up asshole (blurred because of a swear word!)
Please help and have a good day

Welp, that was one of the most ominous titles of a post I’ve seen on this site- and I say the content of said post is well-suited to it. Personally, I get having characters you don’t like very much, but I still love them because they’re mine and I created them. Regardless, I think the utmost question you should ask when deciding the fate of [name_m]Eloi[/name_m] is how he impacts the story and other characters. What’s his purpose? What kind of purpose is it? Is it purely emotional, such as a close bond with another character, or is his role tied to the very plot of the story? You can have unlikable characters that are still integral to the story for one reason or another, and I think you should consider the ramifications of his death in-universe if you were to kill him off. Who knows? Maybe he’d become more meaningful of a character if he were to die.
Anyways, I’ve no ideas on how to kill him off that wouldn’t immediately result in me being banned from Nameberry, so I won’t divulge any of that. I will, however, propose some ideas for him to be more likeable/redeemable: how about his horrid personality becomes too much for the other characters to bear, and they severe ties with him altogether? Depending on the type of character [name_m]Eloi[/name_m] is, he might just brush it off, or he may take it personally and initially be angry, until he self-reflects and realizes his behavior and attitude is has caused him to be excluded from the others, and he gradually develops into a much tamer version of his previously unbearable self. However, you could choose a completely different route and have this cause his personality to worsen and becomes so difficult to deal with that the other characters have no choice but to lash out at or kill him. [name_m]Eloi[/name_m] dying may lead to potential drama with the other characters as well, depending on how you choose to go about his death.
Whatever you choose to be Eloi’s fate, good luck.

If you really want rid of him, you could make him vanish under mysterious circumstances, furthering the plot while keeping him away for a while. He could come back and have a completely changed attitude?

That could work thanks I’m not sure exactly how I’d make him disappear though or how I’d explain his change in personality considering his angery rude behavior is due to a need for vengeance of his fathers death and the guy he likes being hurt by the same person who murdered his father (who also killed him the reason his behavior has changed to be so angery is because he lost his memory until recently when he saw the murderer again)so I’m not sure how to justify the change if you have any ideas for that that would be helpful
