Henry Birch

What are your thoughts on [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Birch[/name_m]? [name_m]Both[/name_m] names would honor my dad.

Adding Jack Wilder to this thread. What are your thoughts on this combo? Both names honor family.

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Birch[/name_m] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] are both great. I imagine they would both be outdoorsy and rugged, although [name_m]Jack[/name_m] would be the adventurer whereas [name_m]Henry[/name_m] would be the photographer.

[name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Birch[/name_m]! So cool. I lovelovelove [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m], but it’s the name of a character in Now You See Me. FN/LN. I actually sort of like the tie, but I feel it’s sort of cheesy. Which is what’s keeping me from changing my [name_m]Jack[/name_m] combo ([name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Cole[/name_m]) to [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m]. He was actually my favorite character in the movie, but I feel like it’s sort of lame to name your child after a TV or movie character. Somehow, literature carries more weight, and thus, it’s okay. haha.

Never heard of Now You See Me. [name_m]Will[/name_m] have to go look it up. Of course a great combo I am in love with, [name_m]Jack[/name_m] honoring several close family members and [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] honoring my late grandma’s side of the family. Maybe I should not let it bother me. Plus my surname is not [name_m]Wilder[/name_m], it would be a middle name. I wonder if in a few years it would even matter. I guess it would depend on how big this movie is. Grr.

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Birch[/name_m] is really nice-- it has a solid yet whimsical feel to it. [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] evokes a little too much [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_u]London[/name_u]/Call of the [name_m]Wild[/name_m] to me so I’d definitely go with [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Birch[/name_m].

[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] but I’m not so convinced about [name_m]Birch[/name_m] but since it honors family I think it would work.

OOh, you can use [name_m]Birch[/name_m] as a name… Hadn’t considered it. [name_m]Birch[/name_m] translated to my language (Faroese) is Bjørk - and it’s a girl name, though I can’t imagine [name_m]Birch[/name_m] for girls. I love it, and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Birch[/name_m] is just amazing. I love [name_m]Henry[/name_m].

Oh, I’ve seen Now You See Me, loved it, but hadn’t thought at all about [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m]. I love it. [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is one of my favorite names, and [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] is just a cool mn. You have really a talent for giving ‘common’ names unexpected mn…

Thank you, all.

I absolutely love [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Birch[/name_m]. I also really like [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m], but not as much as [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. Best of luck!

oh, I really like it! If you’re open to suggestion, I think [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] runs in the same vein.

[name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] is fun sounding and rather charming, but [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Birch[/name_m] is amazing! It feels substantial without seeming overbearing. It’s a fantastic combo.

is one of the most beautiful sounding names I have heard.

Like [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] too.

Thank you, all.

[name_u]Leslie[/name_u], I love saying it. I really like the look of the name also.

I love both names! I love the traditional first names with lesser known/unusual middles. And I also love how you are honoring your father with [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Birch[/name_m].

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Birch[/name_m] is really handsome. Sounds like a literary hero.
[name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] says whiskey-drinking, wolf-fighting, ice-climbing guy to me. Too [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_u]London[/name_u].

I love [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m]! [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Birch[/name_m] is ok. I live in the [name_m]Pacific[/name_m] NW and both names are very popular here. I know 6 [name_m]Henry[/name_m]'s all under the age of 7. It is a classic name, that people love so it will stand the test of time. [name_m]Jack[/name_m] I really love (also really like [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] for a middle). I know 4 [name_m]Jack[/name_m]'s, one [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] that sometimes goes by [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and 2 [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m]'s (ugh, do not like [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] but it usually sounds like [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] when said aloud so sometimes it feel like there are lots of [name_m]Jack[/name_m]-type names). Again, [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is a classic name that will stand the test of time. [name_m]Both[/name_m] are vintage but [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is more formal (I think of it paired with [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]) and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] more free-spirited (I picture a [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] or [name_f]Sadie[/name_f]). Personally, I’m more a fan of [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. What is your sons name? Maybe that’s a good way to narrow it down. Also, if you surname is one syllable then [name_m]Henry[/name_m] might go better but if more than one, I would pick [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. I think the siblings and last name make a huge difference.

Elo, my son’s name is a well-known gaelic name. I feel as though it is a more kicked back kind of name compared to names like [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]. I actually feel [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is kicked back, maybe because my dad (his middle name is [name_m]Henry[/name_m]) has a quieter, more kicked back personality (yet was always a very hard worker, until recently with having a stroke and health issues). Our surname has 2 syllables. I have always liked the sound of boys’ names with one or two syllables with it, maybe because many male family members with the surname do.
