Henry Ellis or Gale?

Dh and I are having a hard time agreeing on a name for our surprise ds. [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is our top choice at the moment. Middle name needs to be a family name from dh’s family.

Dh wants [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Gale[/name_u] or [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Ellis[/name_u]

[name_u]Gale[/name_u] is a very special family name. He actually wants it as first name. I am okay with it as a middle.
But [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Gale[/name_u] is from the Wizzard of [name_m]Oz[/name_m] and Lost. [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Gale[/name_u] from Lost is creepy! LOL! Where it a more common name I wouldn’t worry about it.

So now he wants [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Ellis[/name_u]. I really really liked this. We decided that was his name, and we started using it. Dh doesn’t love [name_m]Henry[/name_m] he loves [name_m]Hank[/name_m]. So we have been calling baby [name_m]Hank[/name_m]. But them I thought about it with the middle name [name_u]Ellis[/name_u]…

[name_m]Hank[/name_m] E. Last Name? [name_m]Hank[/name_m] E.? panky…
Then dh said and H. [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] - H.[name_f]Ell[/name_f] is… Umm not helping!

Now I don’t want to use it. Dh says I am over thinking it. What do you think? Is it terrible?

I think you’re overthinking as well. I don’t can’t think of any situation where your son would be using his nickname and his mn initial so no need to worry about that. If anything it would be [name_m]Henry[/name_m] E.
And I also don’t know of a circumstance where it would be his first initial/mn/ln so I don’t think you need to worry about that either.

It’s not terrible at all! It seems like you both really like the name so use it!

I adore [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Ellis[/name_u], such a handsome name. I would not be concerned about [name_m]Hank[/name_m] E. [name_m]Hank[/name_m] would be his nickname. When his full name would be used it would be [name_m]Henry[/name_m] E Surname or [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] Surname. Would your husband like [name_m]Huck[/name_m] as a nickname? I adore [name_m]Huck[/name_m] as a nickname for [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. [name_m]Huck[/name_m] might put your mind at ease more, even though I do not think you need to be concerned.

You’re definitely overthinking it. I prefer [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Gale[/name_u] over [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Ellis[/name_u], but he’s your baby.

Definitely over-thinking it. He’d either be referred to as [name_m]Henry[/name_m] E or [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Ellis[/name_u], neither of which pose a problem. I think it’s a handsome combination.

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Ellis[/name_u]

The only way other kids are going to call him [name_m]Hank[/name_m] E. Panky is if you call him that first, and other kids hear you do it. [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] is great. [name_m]Hank[/name_m] is fine.

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] is just lovely! The baby won’t likely go with [name_m]Hank[/name_m] forever and even if he does, it still works. [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Gale[/name_u] is fine too and I didn’t think of the wizard or lost associations… But [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] flows very well!
