I would really appreciate your help. I am pregnant with my second baby and this time its a boy! I find boys names SO difficult so would love your opinion. Our daughter is 2.5 and her name is [name]Ava[/name] [name]Jean[/name] ([name]Jean[/name] being hubbies grandmothers name). I would like a classic name to pair with [name]Ava[/name]. I would love to have [name]Jamieson[/name] as a middle name (my dads surname). So…which name do you think pairs the best with [name]Ava[/name]?
I think both [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Elliott[/name] are great with [name]Ava[/name]! I personally like [name]Henry[/name] [name]Jamieson[/name] better as a combo, though–[name]Elliott[/name] [name]Jamieson[/name] feels a bit too surnamey to me.
Thank you [name]Ash[/name], you make a good point re the surnames. I also should have mentioned that I am from Australia where neither of these names are in the top 50 so it wont be overly common. (That said, [name]Ava[/name] apparently is and we have only met one other!)
Really? That’s interesting. I know someone expecting her third in a few months from Australia (not sure which state), so I hear a little bit about popularity there. [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Elliot[/name] are her top two if she has a boy this time around so I thought they were a lot more popular! I googled it, though, and found this link (Parenting - Latest news headlines in Australia and around the world, tips and advice for parents | 9Honey Parenting - 9Honey) which says that [name]Henry[/name] ranked number 26 for 2010, I think. I haven’t been able to find more recent statistics, I’m not sure when they come out for Australia. I just thought that might be helpful for you to know… it sounds like [name]Elliott[/name] is still relatively unpopular and didn’t rank on the top 100 there, though!
hhmmm good to know. I found 2011 and [name]Henry[/name] was 55 or something? I’m not that fussed anyway As long as its a name that both hubby and I like I dont care hehe!
I say go with [name]Elliott[/name], it’s less trendy. I am however totally biased, because it’s the name I choose for my son and I love it. I like [name]Henry[/name] too though. They are both great names.
With [name]Jamieson[/name] I love [name]Henry[/name]. And since you’ve already used [name]Ava[/name], you don’t seem to be too opposed to more popular names - though I know they may be less popular where you are than here in the US. I agree with a pp that [name]Elliott[/name] [name]Jamieson[/name] seems a bit heavy on the surname vibe.
