Henry or Theo? Naming baby brother

We are due with #2 in [name_f]October[/name_f] and I am so stuck on names! Our 1st son’s name is [name_m]Scott[/name_m] [name_m]Greyson[/name_m] (we call him [name_u]Scotty[/name_u] [name_u]Grey[/name_u] sometimes). Its been a solid choice; known and easy to spell but not overly used.
Our last name is 2 syllables, starts with D and can be sometimes made fun of (its of [name_m]German[/name_m]/Dutch origin, if that helps). So, some something clean and classic, with a little character for the first would be good.

I think we have narrowed down names for baby brother to [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Orson[/name_m] or [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Wayne[/name_m]

Im still looking for ideas for a third choice or great confirmation that tips the scales for [name_m]Henry[/name_m] or [name_u]Theo[/name_u]

Thoughts, ideas, feedback welcome!

Thanks!

I think [name_u]Theo[/name_u]

[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Wayne[/name_m] gets my vote.

I prefer [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Orson[/name_m]. First of all, [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Orson[/name_m] is just really really cool; I love it as a combo, and [name_m]Wayne[/name_m], not so much (partly because of family ties; partly just because it feels really dated to me). But even with [name_m]Henry[/name_m] vs. [name_u]Theo/name_u, I’m not the hugest [name_u]Theo[/name_u] fan, even though [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is lovely. I’m not sure why I’m not a huge [name_u]Theo[/name_u] fan; I’m guessing it might have to do with the fact that I was a theology major for one year in college, and they called us the Theos. It just doesn’t seem terribly namey to me, and I like [name_m]Leo[/name_m] much better, in comparison. [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is a nice name, though, and I think either [name_m]Henry[/name_m] or [name_u]Theo/name_u would go great with [name_m]Scott[/name_m]. [name_m]Henry[/name_m]'s my favorite, though.

Good luck!

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] is my favorite!

Have you thought about [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]? Sort of combines the sounds of [name_m]Henry[/name_m] & [name_u]Theo[/name_u].

For [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] I love nn’s [name_m]Ted[/name_m]/[name_u]Teddy[/name_u], and [name_u]Theo[/name_u] is nice too - more nn options than [name_m]Henry[/name_m] although I do love them both though.

[name_u]Theo[/name_u] gets my vote! Reasons:

  1. [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] has a wealth of nicknames–[name_u]Theo[/name_u], [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] ([name_m]Bear[/name_m] part optional), [name_m]Thor[/name_m], [name_f]Doro[/name_f] (I might have made that one up), et cetera. He can pick his favorite to go by in school and whatnot, or whatever suits his personality. [name_m]Henry[/name_m] has only one that I can think of–[name_m]Hank[/name_m].
  2. I think [name_u]Theo[/name_u] and [name_m]Scott[/name_m] sounds much more modern and cool than [name_m]Henry[/name_m] ([name_m]Hank[/name_m]?) and [name_m]Scott[/name_m]. The latter sounds like a couple of dads to me!
  3. You can call him [name_m]Bruce[/name_m] [name_m]Wayne[/name_m] when/if he’s ever in his superhero phase. (That is, if he ends up liking Batman.) Halloween is solved!
  4. [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] sounds fresher to my ears than [name_m]Henry[/name_m], and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Wayne[/name_m] DEFINITELY sounds fresher to me than [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Orson[/name_m].

First, I really love [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]! But, to me neither [name_m]Henry[/name_m] nor [name_u]Theo[/name_u] goes with [name_m]Scott[/name_m] as well as they go with each other.

To match [name_m]Scott[/name_m], have you considered [name_u]Dylan[/name_u], [name_m]Adam[/name_m] or [name_u]Logan[/name_u]? One of my personal favorites is [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m] which I like as a sibling to [name_m]Scott[/name_m] as well.
[name_m]Mitchell[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]?

I also like [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] and [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] as additional options similar to [name_m]Henry[/name_m] or [name_m]Theodore[/name_m].

I would have said [name_m]Orson[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], but I don’t think you want a [name_m]Scott[/name_m] and an [name_m]Orson[/name_m]. I like [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Orson[/name_m] out of the two!

I think [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Orson[/name_m] is such a lovely combination. I like [name_u]Theo[/name_u] but find [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] a little dated.

I suggest [name_m]Bruce[/name_m]! [name_m]Scott[/name_m] and [name_m]Bruce[/name_m] sound like a great match. I love the name [name_m]Scott[/name_m]. It needs something a bit more timeless than uber-popular and on-trend [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_u]Theo[/name_u].

I really like both first names. I prefer the combo [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Wayne[/name_m] I think. [name_m]Orson[/name_m] is too close to [name_m]Greyson[/name_m], and i also like the sound of [name_u]Scotty[/name_u] & [name_u]Theo[/name_u] a bit more than [name_u]Scotty[/name_u] & [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. Good luck!
