[name_f]My[/name_f] daughter’s name is [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and my husband and I are expecting a baby boy. We have narrowed down two names for him. Either [name_m]Henry[/name_m] or [name_m]Walter[/name_m]. We like [name_m]Walter[/name_m] but don’t know if it’s too uncommon. (I think [name_u]Wally[/name_u] or [name_m]Walt[/name_m] for nicknames would be super cute!) We like [name_m]Henry[/name_m] but don’t know if it sounds too much like [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] with them both having similar endings. We also hear the name [name_m]Henry[/name_m] a lot and are not sure if the popularity of the name should matter. Our last name starts with H. Any thoughts?
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_m]Walter[/name_m] is wonderful! [name_m]Walter[/name_m] is an underused gem, and goes great with [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]!
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite name is [name_m]Henry[/name_m], but I really like to see [name_m]Walter[/name_m] & [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] together. Today, I’m going to vote for [name_m]Walter[/name_m]. I don’t think [name_m]Walter[/name_m] is too uncommon at all.
Have you decided on a middle name? [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Walter[/name_m] nn [name_m]Hawk[/name_m] would be amazing! [name_m]Hank[/name_m], [name_m]Harry[/name_m] and [name_m]Walt[/name_m] are fantastic nicknames too.
[name_m]Walter[/name_m]! I adore [name_m]Henry[/name_m] but there’s something so delightfully unexpected yet fitting about [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_m]Walter[/name_m] together. Plus you avoid the double -ry ending sounds.
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_m]Walter[/name_m] are so charming together!!
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.
I love the name [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. It’s charming, classic, friendly & perfect w/[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]. That all being said, it’s sooooo popular. It’s just about every other little boy I meet. [name_m]Walter[/name_m] has all of the same adjectives as [name_m]Henry[/name_m], but is way more uncommon & unexpected. And it probably flows better w/an ‘H’ last name.
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.
I like [name_m]Henry[/name_m], but I like [name_m]Walter[/name_m] too and I think it works better with [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] as a sibling and with an H last name.
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]!!
I like [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_m]Walter[/name_m] moreso than [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is just too popular in comparison to [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], making [name_m]Walter[/name_m] stand out in my mind.
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_m]Walter[/name_m] is suuuuch a good pairing!
I love both, but I’d go with [name_m]Walter[/name_m] as I feel it’s more distinctive.
It’s interesting how most of you have similar thoughts! Thanks for the helpful and positive feedback!!
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] is gorgeous with [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]! I can’t say I’m a fan of [name_m]Walter[/name_m] - I struggle to see it on a child to be honest, but that’s just me. I just think you can’t go wrong with [name_m]Henry[/name_m]; it’s classic, cool and timeless, just like [name_f]Audrey[/name_f].
I like [name_m]Walter[/name_m] because [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] do sound similar, plus [name_u]Wally[/name_u] and [name_m]Walt[/name_m] are so cute!
I like both, but I like [name_m]Henry[/name_m] better with [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]? I don’t notice the -ree endings because they’re spelled different nree and dree sound quite different to me? [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] almost turns into aw-jree in my accent.
I love [name_m]Walter[/name_m] and [name_m]Walt[/name_m] is cute, but I have always liked [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] together a ton, so he gets my vote.
Good luck!
I’d normally vote for [name_m]Henry[/name_m] but [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_m]Walter[/name_m] are lovely together! Also, [name_u]Wally[/name_u] and [name_m]Walt[/name_m] are really cute nicknames!
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_m]Walter[/name_m] go well together! I also like [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. I wouldn’t worry too much about the similar endings. [name_f]My[/name_f] sister and I go by our nicknames, both of which happen to end with the letter e! It’s never once been mentioned or noticed by anyone.
Both are great… but [name_m]Walter[/name_m] gets my vote! Such cute nickname options too <3
late comment, sorry. I was searching the name [name_m]Walter[/name_m] and found this thread.
If your last name is [name_u]Hudson[/name_u], I’d go with [name_m]Walter[/name_m]. I prefer it with [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] anyway, but I definitly wouldn’t go with [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Hudson[/name_u]. [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] was an [name_f]English[/name_f] sea explorer, best known for his “discovery” of parts of present day [name_f]Canada[/name_f] and [name_u]North[/name_u] Eastern US ( Henry Hudson - Wikipedia ) . There’s an elementary school named [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] where I live, pacific coast [name_f]Canada[/name_f].
I prefer the name [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. But the combination of [name_m]Walter[/name_m] and [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is wonderful!
