Henry

Recently, I’ve fallen out of love with the majority of my favorite boys’ names, but I think I could [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Henry[/name].

[name]How[/name] does [name]Henry[/name] sound as a brother to [name]Isabelle[/name]? [name]Caleb[/name]? I love the idea of [name]Isabelle[/name] and [name]Henry[/name] as siblings, but I’m not as sure about [name]Caleb[/name] and [name]Henry[/name].

Also, do you know a [name]Henry[/name]? [name]How[/name] is his name received? I’m worried it’s just a bit too old-fashioned for the people I know, but I really, really love it.

Combo ideas? I love the idea of something literary or Biblical, but that’s not a requirement. I don’t have that many family names I can use, but [name]Beckett[/name], [name]Earl[/name], [name]Christian[/name], or the initials LB would be my options.

Thanks!

This is the name we’ve chosen for our third! He’ll be joining brothers [name]Jonathan[/name] and [name]Carlos[/name].

I think [name]Henry[/name] goes wonderfully with your other kiddos names, but I had some of the same reservations about it. [name]Even[/name] though it’s a reasonably popular name, I’ve never known a [name]Henry[/name] personally. I was worried that we might get bad reactions. So far, everyone we’ve told has absolutely loved it!

I don’t think that [name]Henry[/name] is any more old-fashioned than [name]Isabelle[/name], and that name has positively taken off. I wouldn’t worry about the match with [name]Caleb[/name] either. [name]Even[/name] though they are different styles, they’re both familiar names with a lot of history behind them.

I think it’s a lovely choice, but I may be a little bit biased.

I have a son named [name]Henry[/name], and I feel like people really like the name. People comment on it being old-fashioned, but always in a positive way, saying that it’s nice to hear a name like that. [name]Henry[/name] goes well with [name]Isabelle[/name] and not so well with [name]Caleb[/name], but it sounds ok with [name]Cal[/name] I think. It’s getting more and more popular, though, so that’s something to consider I suppose.

Why is that, I wonder? They both seem like classic, handsome names… but I get that vibe, too, that [name]Caleb[/name] and [name]Henry[/name] are mismatched. I like the look of [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Caleb[/name] better than [name]Caleb[/name] and [name]Henry[/name], and I can see [name]Isabelle[/name], [name]Henry[/name], and [name]Caleb[/name] or [name]Isabelle[/name], [name]Caleb[/name], and [name]Henry[/name] being siblings, but still… [name]Caleb[/name] and [name]Henry[/name] seem kind of at odds.

I think it’s because [name]Caleb[/name] is distinctly Biblical and [name]Henry[/name] is distinctly classic, and there’s not much overlap between the two, unlike something like [name]Nathaniel[/name] that manages to be both obviously Biblical, but entirely classic.
