Henry

As we have been working through the names left on our list, I have had mixed feelings about [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. Some days I like it and other days I am really not so sure. Many people seem to love this name. I am also really not sure about the NN [name_m]Hank[/name_m] or [name_m]Harry[/name_m]. What are your thoughts on the name?

It’s alright. It’s really popular and I’ve never understood why because I don’t find it very appealing. I think [name_m]Henrik[/name_m] is a great alternative though.

I like it more as a middle name.

It’s a little too common for me to ever actually use but I’ve always had a soft spot for the name [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. I think it’s a fantastic name: there’s something about the sound and the feel of it for me. I dislike [name_m]Hank[/name_m] though and also [name_m]Hal[/name_m], and whilst I like [name_m]Harry[/name_m] on its own I don’t really understand using it as a nickname for [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. I don’t think it needs one at all really; it stands well on its own!

Far too popular for me

It’s popularity can make it unappealing at times, but overall I do view [name_m]Henry[/name_m] as a lovely, soft and warm name. I don’t like [name_m]Hank[/name_m] or [name_m]Harry[/name_m] as nicknames though, I think it’s lovely on its own.

I love the name [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. To me, it’s a strong, classic and handsome name. I am considering it for my 3rd boy. I don’t mind the nicknames [name_m]Hank[/name_m] or [name_m]Harry[/name_m], although I think I wouldn’t use a nickname at all.

Apparently, [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is very popular but I have yet to meet one. I am a preschool teacher, too. I’ve only come across 1 [name_m]Henry[/name_m], and that is my neighbors teenage son.

I know so so many Henrys I’ve gotten sick of it. I’d pick [name_m]Henrik[/name_m]/[name_m]Harvey[/name_m]/[name_u]Rory[/name_u]/[name_m]Hendrix[/name_m] over it any day, even if they aren’t my usual style. That said, I love the nickname [name_m]Huck[/name_m]. [name_m]Harry[/name_m]'s cute too.

Where are these mythical places where there are Henrys everywhere?! All the little boys in my neck of the woods (southeastern PA) seem to be named things like [name_m]Grayson[/name_m], [name_m]Jackson[/name_m], [name_m]Maverick[/name_m], Rylyn, [name_m]Ryker[/name_m], [name_u]Cameron[/name_u], [name_m]Landon[/name_m], [name_u]Jamison[/name_u], [name_u]Emerson[/name_u], [name_u]Jace[/name_u], etc.

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] sounds so refreshing to us, in comparison!

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] is one of my favorite names. I think it’s classic but accessible.

I’m also not wild about [name_m]Hank[/name_m] and a nn, but I do like [name_m]Harry[/name_m]. Some alternatives: [name_m]Hal[/name_m], [name_f]Hen[/name_f], [name_m]Ry[/name_m], [name_m]Huck[/name_m].

It’s definitely grown on me. I had a hard time seeing it on a child for a while, but after knowing one, I quite like [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. Not a fan of any of the nicknames though. [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is perfect as is

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] has always been one of my favorites, but I would only ever use it as a middle name since it’s so common. It’s my dad’s middle name, which makes it special for me.
