Here's our list, pick your favorites!

[name]Baby[/name] # 3 will be here in about 9 weeks and we can not agree on names! Our other kids names are [name]William[/name] [name]Warren[/name]“[name]Will[/name]” and [name]Elle[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name]. Our last name starts with W and ends in Y and is 3 syllables. [name]Baby[/name] # 3’s middle name will be [name]David[/name] after my dad.

Here is our list(feel free to add a name too!):

[name]Rex[/name]
[name]Rearden[/name]
[name]Collin[/name]
[name]Andrew[/name]
[name]Grant[/name]
[name]Reid[/name]
[name]Ford[/name]
[name]Ryan[/name]
[name]Noel[/name]
[name]Warner[/name]
[name]Wright[/name]
[name]Lincoln[/name]
[name]Benjamin[/name]
[name]James[/name]
[name]Kyle[/name]
[name]Jefferson[/name]
[name]Everett[/name]

Help us pick! Thanks!

[name]Rex[/name] - Honestly, this is more of a pet name to me.
[name]Rearden[/name] - A little too odd.
[name]Collin[/name] - Like a lot.
[name]Andrew[/name] - A good classic name, I like it.
[name]Grant[/name] - [name]Don[/name]'t like only because this was the “smelly kid” in school. I think I’d like it more if it weren’t for that.
[name]Reid[/name] - Like.
[name]Ford[/name] - [name]Don[/name]'t like.
[name]Ryan[/name] - Good, a little boring though.
[name]Noel[/name] - Like a lot.
[name]Warner[/name] - Meh.
[name]Wright[/name] - [name]Don[/name]'t like.
[name]Lincoln[/name] - NMS.
[name]Benjamin[/name] - Like a lot.
[name]James[/name] - It’s ok. A nice classic but not my favorite.
[name]Kyle[/name] - Like.
[name]Jefferson[/name] - [name]Don[/name]'t like.
[name]Everett[/name] - [name]Love[/name]!! My favorite off your list.

With [name]William[/name]/[name]Will[/name] and [name]Elle[/name], my favorite from your list is [name]Lincoln[/name] [name]David[/name]. I like that it has the L sound to fit with your sibset, but isn’t too similar to the other names. With [name]David[/name] as a mn, I would not use [name]Reid[/name], [name]Ford[/name], etc. ending with a D.

Some other possibilities:

[name]Calvin[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Charles[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Cole[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Gabriel[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Gilbert[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Joel[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Malcolm[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Nathaniel[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Paul[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Philip[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Rowland[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Samuel[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Walter[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Wesley[/name] [name]David[/name]

I like [name]Lincoln[/name] best from your list. The nn [name]Link[/name] is just too cute! [name]Everett[/name] and [name]Collin[/name] are also nice, none of the others stand out to me.

What about…

[name]Emmett[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Declan[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Caspian[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Jameson[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Isaac[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Austen[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Jonah[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Greyson[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Grey[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Emerson[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Elliot[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Caleb[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Owen[/name] [name]David[/name]

I hope some of these are close to your style! Good luck!

My favorites from your list- [name]Colin[/name], [name]Andrew[/name], [name]Grant[/name], [name]Kyle[/name], [name]Benjamin[/name] and [name]Ryan[/name]. The only names I didn’t really care for were [name]Rearden[/name] and [name]Rex[/name]. [name]Rearden[/name] sounds like a butler to me and there aren’t any good nicknames. I think [name]Rex[/name] sounds too harsh with the soft sounds of [name]Will[/name] and [name]Elle[/name].

I think a single syllable name (or a longer name with a 1-syllable nn) would fit well with your other children. While it might not be a big deal if the 3rd name matches in style, a really long name with those two would seem awkward to me. [name]Kyle[/name] and [name]Noel[/name] fit well imo b/c of length and the common L sound. However, I wouldn’t rule out [name]Rex[/name] simply for sounding like a pet name. I’ve worked in animal hospitals for long enough that [name]Bella[/name] only sounds like a dog name to me, but apparently it’s very popular for babies as well.

Congratulations! With sibling [name]Will[/name] and [name]Elle[/name], and full formal given names of [name]William[/name], [name]Warren[/name], [name]Elle[/name] and [name]Alexandra[/name], it appears you and your husband favor classic names with a lot of history behind them. For brevity’s sake, I’m going to assume your last name is [name]Waverly[/name]. ___ [name]David[/name] [name]Waverly[/name] is a 2-3 syllable combination, which means for optimal flow a 3-syllable name would sound best (as in your first son, [name]William[/name] [name]Warren[/name]). However, any combination of 1, 2 or 3 syllables would actually work. And I agree with pp-- selecting a first name ending in D is out, since it will flow straight into [name]David[/name].

[name]Rex[/name]-- a bit abrupt and much less formal than [name]William[/name] or [name]Elle[/name]. I feel it’s a poor style match and doesn’t work well with [name]David[/name].
[name]Rearden[/name]-- the Ds repeat too closely ("[name]Rearden[/name] [name]David[/name],") but more importantly this sounds very, very close to “rear end,” and you can bet your son’s classmates will quickly discover that.
[name]Collin[/name]-- [name]Colin[/name] (prefer with 1 L) is an old diminutive of [name]Nicholas[/name]. [name]Colin[/name] [name]David[/name] sounds perfectly fine, and the style is consistent with the L-rich names of your first two children. However, I think [name]Nicholas[/name] itself works best-- [name]Nicholas[/name] [name]David[/name] [name]Waverly[/name] has perfect flow.
[name]Andrew[/name]-- completely unobjectionable, and a fine brother name with [name]William[/name] & [name]Elle[/name] (esp with nn [name]Drew[/name]). [name]Andrew[/name] [name]David[/name] is a bit clunkier due to the repeated D sound and two syllables in [name]Andrew[/name], but it certainly works.
[name]Grant[/name]- I quite like this. [name]Even[/name] though it’s only one syllable, it’s still a formal name and I can see [name]Grant[/name] as a brother to [name]Will[/name] and [name]Elle[/name]. [name]Grant[/name] [name]David[/name] [name]Waverly[/name] sound great to my ear.
[name]Reid[/name]-- out since it ends in D
[name]Ford[/name]-- same, out since it ends in D
[name]Ryan[/name]-- I don’t think this works as well with middle name [name]David[/name]; it’s also a bit of an ‘80s name.
[name]Noel[/name]-- this is a soft, L-rich, formal name and as such works very well with siblings [name]Elle[/name] and [name]Will[/name]. [name]Noel[/name] [name]Gallagher[/name] has done much to popularize and “masculine-ize” this name for the general public. However, depending on where you live this could be perceived as a girls’ name. I personally think it’s marvelous and that [name]Noel[/name] [name]David[/name] [name]Waverly[/name] is perfect.
[name]Warner[/name]-- too close to [name]Warren[/name]
[name]Wright[/name]-- This too is a real contender. I like the flow of [name]Wright[/name] [name]David[/name] [name]Waverly[/name]. However, it’s a bit different in style from [name]Will[/name] and [name]Elle[/name]-- less classic.
[name]Lincoln[/name]-- Really fun and unexpected. [name]Lincoln[/name] [name]David[/name] [name]Waverly[/name] works very well, even though [name]Lincoln[/name] is a 2-syllable name. [name]Linc[/name] is a zippy little nickname, and you have preserved the L sound in [name]Will[/name] and [name]Elle[/name].
[name]Benjamin[/name]-- also flows very well, and is a classic name which has been given for centuries, much like [name]William[/name] or [name]Alexandra[/name]. The three syllables in [name]Benjamin[/name] again produces an optimal rhythm ([name]Benjamin[/name] [name]David[/name] [name]Waverly[/name]). [name]Ben[/name] is a perfect match for [name]Will[/name] and [name]Elle[/name].
[name]James[/name]-- I don’t care as much for [name]James[/name] [name]David[/name]. Can’t put my finger on why, but it doesn’t work as well as [name]Grant[/name] [name]David[/name].
[name]Kyle[/name]-- very much an '80s name, but a soft, masculine 1-syllable name in the style of [name]Will[/name] and [name]Elle[/name].
[name]Jefferson[/name]-- Again, great meter and lots of fun. [name]Jeff[/name] can easily be a brother to [name]Will[/name]; [name]Jefferson[/name] [name]David[/name] [name]Waverly[/name] works very well.
[name]Everett[/name]-- same analysis as above. [name]Love[/name] the style, the soft-but-masculine vibe, and nn [name]Rhett[/name]. [name]Everett[/name] [name]David[/name] [name]Waverly[/name] = winner.

Optimal flow:
[name]Nicholas[/name]
[name]Benjamin[/name]
[name]Jefferson[/name]
[name]Everett[/name]

Great options:
[name]Grant[/name]
[name]Lincoln[/name]
[name]Noel[/name]

My favorites would be [name]Colin[/name] [name]David[/name] and [name]Benjamin[/name] [name]David[/name]. I really like [name]Rex[/name] and [name]Grant[/name] too, but I don’t think they go well with [name]David[/name].

[name]Collin[/name] is by far my favorite. For a really long time, this is what I planned to name my little boy if I ever had one. I just can’t see myself using it anymore, but I still like it. [name]Ryan[/name], [name]Lincoln[/name] and [name]Benjamin[/name] are nice, too. But please (and no offence) do not name your son [name]Rex[/name]. I know 3 dogs with that name, and most people think of it as a pet name. My suggestions:

[name]Alexander[/name]/[name]Alex[/name]
[name]Oakley[/name]
[name]Brighton[/name]
[name]Matthew[/name]
[name]Tyler[/name]

My fave is [name]Everett[/name] [name]DavId[/name] as its on out list too  next up I like [name]Jefferson[/name] [name]David[/name] and [name]Benjamin[/name] [name]David[/name].

[name]Will[/name], [name]Elle[/name] and [name]Rhett[/name]
[name]Will[/name], [name]Elle[/name] and [name]Jeff[/name]
[name]Will[/name], [name]Elle[/name] and [name]Ben[/name]

After writing that I almost feel like there should be at least one L in the name to tie them together in which case [name]Lincoln[/name] would be good.
What about [name]Leander[/name] [name]David[/name] nn [name]Leo[/name]? Or [name]Callen[/name] or [name]Callum[/name] nn [name]Cal[/name]? Or McCallister?

[name]Love[/name] [name]Benjamin[/name]!
