Browsing through Facebook I went to one of my favorite pages “Humans of [name_m]New[/name_m] [name_m]York[/name_m]” where they posted a picture with a young woman talking about her name. I’ve spent a good bit of time browsing through the comments at some of the names listed (some are awesomely unique while others…not so much). I just thought other name enthusiasts might want to talk a look at some of these unique monikers and see what the people who wear them actually have to say about their names
That was pretty interesting to see people with different names and how they’ve dealt with that.
It makes some of the “unique” or “out there” names on NB not seem that unique or out there at all!
It was interesting. It’s good to see how supportive most people seem to be about the names. I’m glad I don’t have to deal with the same old comments that those people get on a frequent basis though. The car ones ([name_f]Kia[/name_f], [name_u]Alexis[/name_u]) and [name_f]Marina[/name_f] were particularly cringe-worthy, but expected.
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] HONY I saw that post too. I love having a unique name because mine is one that really has no ties to anything except some obscure historical figures (and an equally obscure [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] character). Having a name that has a huge pop culture reference like [name_f]Beyonce[/name_f] is the rougher type of unique name to have.
