I actually do think [name_f]Hester[/name_f] is nice, though I’ll admit it reads a little harsher to me personally than names like [name_f]Esther[/name_f] or [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]. I think part of it is the strong “Hest-” sound, for some reason it gives me a slightly masculine impression too, maybe because it vaguely echoes names like [name_m]Chester[/name_m], [name_m]Lester[/name_m], [name_m]Hector[/name_m], etc. That said, I still think it’s very usable, especially if you like those older, literary, slightly austere vintage names. It has a lot of character and feels distinctive without sounding made-up. I also think the right middle could soften and freshen it beautifully. Something lighter and more romantic could really balance it out, like [name_f]Hester[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Hester[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], [name_f]Hester[/name_f] [name_f]June[/name_f], [name_f]Hester[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f] or [name_f]Hester[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f].
