I came across the name [name_u]Hezekiah[/name_u] and am really loving it especially with the usage of nicknames such as [name_u]Kai[/name_u], [name_u]Zeke[/name_u], [name_u]Kiah[/name_u]. It’s rare and unusual which is not usually my style. I mentioned it to my SO as we have been compiling a list together. He liked it so it’s been added to the list. I think it sounds great with [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] which is on our list. We like the nickname options of [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] as well (Sol, [name_m]Solly[/name_m], [name_u]Sonny[/name_u], Ollie). [name_u]August[/name_u] is also on our list. The only girl name we both like is [name_f]Fiona[/name_f].
I was wondering your thoughts on [name_u]Hezekiah[/name_u] and if it would fit well with our favorites so far. What middle names would you pair with [name_u]Hezekiah[/name_u]? Last name is long and [name_m]Dutch[/name_m] so a shorter middle name would be preferred.
I like it! Sweet nicknames and it goes well with [name_m]Solomon[/name_m]. Maybe a bit different vibe from [name_u]August[/name_u] but I like it with him too.
It does fit well with [name_m]Solomon[/name_m]! [name_u]Hezekiah[/name_u] is very biblical to me, and [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] feels biblical paired with it. Both were kings in the old testament, and apparently [name_u]Hezekiah[/name_u] reopened the [name_u]Temple[/name_u] of [name_m]Solomon[/name_m]. So if biblical is something you’re going for, this fits the bill! If not, they may not be best paired together.
[name_u]Hezekiah[/name_u] is sharp and clunky cool! [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] and [name_u]Hezekiah[/name_u] make a dreamy set! [name_u]August[/name_u] and [name_u]Hezekiah[/name_u] and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] and [name_u]Hezekiah[/name_u] are unexpected but I think they could work especially with the nn choices!
To me, it does noticeably feel very out there compared to [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] and [name_u]August[/name_u], but it goes nicely with [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] if the names feeling ultra-religious together doesn’t bother you! I’m personally not a fan of the -iah names, to me they feel too ancient-biblical to imagine on a modern person or a young child, but I understand that they’re a more established trend in the US and I can appreciate Hezekiah’s nicknames!
I know a little boy at my church named [name_u]Hezekiah[/name_u] and his sisters are [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] and [name_f]Antoinette[/name_f] [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] and [name_u]August[/name_u] are interesting choices to pair with it, but I think it works pretty well! [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] and [name_u]Hezekiah[/name_u] are 10/10
[name_u]Hezekiah[/name_u] fits really well with [name_m]Solomon[/name_m]. I’d be very surprised to see it used in a set with [name_u]August[/name_u] or Fiona… but I wouldn’t be surprised for [name_u]August[/name_u] & [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] to be used together. So you seem to like a couple of different styles.
[name_u]Hezekiah[/name_u] is great with [name_m]Solomon[/name_m]! I’d probably lengthen [name_u]August[/name_u] to [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] or [name_u]Augustine[/name_u] to make it match better and you could still use [name_u]August[/name_u] as a NN. [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] seems totally mismatched though. [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] would be lovely!
Thank you for the suggestions! I have actually been thinking about the name [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] but haven’t brought it up to my SO yet. I really like [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] and [name_u]Augustine[/name_u] with the nickname [name_u]August[/name_u], [name_m]Auggie[/name_m] and [name_u]Gus[/name_u].
We are religious and I was aware of their connection of both being Kings in the Old Testament as well. I don’t think I knew [name_u]Hezekiah[/name_u] reopened the temple of [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] though. How cool.
