Hi Everyone!

Hello!

This is my introduction post. I hope to post a lot here in the future, since I’m 9 weeks pregnant with baby #1. My husband and I are currently thinking casually about names, though he is more set on others than I am (I’m much more open and flexible). We’re not planning on finding out [name]Baby[/name]'s gender, so we should have a handful for each sex, when the time comes to choose, though I’m already convinced we’re having a boy! Haha! It’s a very exciting time.

I am [name]Rebekah[/name] (Bex), and my husband is [name]Alexander[/name] ([name]Alex[/name]) and we like traditional names, but names that aren’t that common. I have a few names that I will hold back, but names that have been thrown on the table include: [name]Charlie[/name], [name]Felix[/name], [name]Toby[/name], [name]Benjamin[/name], and [name]Jack[/name]. Girls include: [name]Chloe[/name], [name]Amy[/name], [name]Hannah[/name], and [name]Lila[/name].

Our surname is Swaffer (“Swo-ffer”).

I’m hoping to find lots of inspiration here over the next seven months!

Hello! Congrats on your pregnancy! I like the names you listed, especially [name]Benjamin[/name], [name]Jack[/name], [name]Hannah[/name], and [name]Lila[/name].

Thank you. And thanks for your reply!

[name]Welcome[/name] and I hope you have a great pregnancy. I love [name]Felix[/name], [name]Benjamin[/name], and [name]Jack[/name] and I also love [name]Hannah[/name] and [name]Lila[/name].

[name]Welcome[/name] and congrats. I will look forward to following your naming journey.

[name]Jack[/name] and [name]Lila[/name] would be so perfect!
[name]Lila[/name] is one of my favorite names. So lilting, so delicate sounding. In the U.S. it seems like [name]Lily[/name] is on the rise, so I worry it would get lumped in with it. Are [name]Lily[/name] or [name]Lila[/name] popular in the U.K.?

For some reason, I disregard popularity when it comes to boys’ names. I think [name]Jack[/name] is a great name.

Gotta say I love the nickname Bex for [name]Rebecca[/name]

I think it would be fun to use a name like [name]Felix[/name] to carry on the x theme, or even something where you could use an x in the nn like [name]Jack[/name] nn [name]Jax[/name]

Hehe! We have thought about the x connection. We’re planning on having 2 or 3 kids though, so it’s a bit limiting. We also like [name]Dexter[/name] for a boy - then we’d be Bex, [name]Lex[/name] and [name]Dex[/name]. Haha! It’s definitely been talked about.

[name]Lila[/name] isn’t so popular here in the UK, which is why I like it, I guess. [name]Lily[/name] is on the up, and [name]Ruby[/name] is extremely popular right now. I also know of a [name]Lola[/name] who has been born recently.

My husband and I recently stumbled upon [name]Jasper[/name] for a boy. I almost feel as if I’m carrying a [name]Jasper[/name], so it’s definitely in the running!

Thanks for your replies!

Loving [name]Jasper[/name] and [name]Lila[/name]. I find your other names nice but wuite popular but I guess thats just personal preference.

i like [name]Toby[/name] [name]Benjamin[/name] or [name]Jasper[/name] [name]Benjamin[/name] for a boy and [name]Lila[/name] [name]Amy[/name] or [name]Hannah[/name] [name]Amy[/name] for a girl

The middle names we pick will be from our family. We’re probably looking at [name]Kevin[/name] or [name]Joseph[/name] for a boy, and still haven’t really got a girl middle name yet.
