[name]Nathaniel[/name] is my number one boys name, and unlikely to change. Is it too much to change my name to [name]Natalia[/name], and have a son named [name]Nathaniel[/name]?
Then I realized today how pretty the combo of [name]Natalie[/name] [name]Elena[/name] is, and it’s very close to being on my list after [name]Alessandra[/name] [name]Chloe[/name]. Is it too much to change my name to [name]Natalia[/name], and then potentially have a daughter named [name]Natalie[/name]?
It might get confusing to have a [name]Nathaniel[/name], [name]Natalie[/name], and [name]Natalia[/name] all under the same roof. However, I think a [name]Natalia[/name] and [name]Nathaniel[/name] OR a [name]Natalia[/name] and [name]Natalie[/name] (one or the other) is able to be done, especially if there are nicknames involved. I really like the idea that either name would work to honor you as the mother, as the father traditionally has a son named after him (or in the case of my dad, both my sister and I are named after him).
Why do you have to have all three? I think being named [name]Natalia[/name] with a son [name]Nathaniel[/name] is totally fine, but any other combination is a bit weird. It’s like you can’t think of any other names. But your signature says you’re a teenager, so I suspect that you’re quite a while away from making any of those decisions. I wouldn’t worry about it- your tastes will likely change.
I do know families where the parents are for example [name]Joseph[/name] and [name]Michelle[/name] and their kids are [name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Michael[/name]…so yes, it does happen and could be an alternative to say [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Jr[/name] in this example.
But I definitely wouldn’t name siblings [name]Nathaniel[/name] and [name]Natalie[/name], altogether too much [name]Nat[/name]! [name]One[/name] or the other would be fine [name]IMO[/name]
Oh I don’t need to have all three at all, I was just inquiring. [name]Natalie[/name] has been a favourite/well-loved for over 8 years now, as well as being one of SO’s top three names.
[name]Nathaniel[/name] is more likely to occur than [name]Natalie[/name].
And yes, you’re right about the change in tastes, it’s just that I tend to love names for several years and will likely have a child before that love runs out. I’m nearly 20 already.
Yeah, that is way too much. [name]Natalia[/name] and [name]Nathaniel[/name] is too close for me. So [name]Natalia[/name], [name]Nathaniel[/name], and [name]Natalie[/name] is [name]WAY[/name] too much. [name]Even[/name] [name]Natalia[/name] and [name]Natalie[/name] is too much.
I love the name [name]Natalia[/name], it’s really pretty [name]May[/name] I ask why you’re considering changing your name?
However, I do think yourself being called [name]Natalia[/name] and having children named [name]Nathaniel[/name] and/or [name]Natalie[/name] is too much!!
I’m tired and unhappy with my birthname, and I’m at a point in my life where I need a fresh start.
The way I see it, you only live once, why not have a name you like?
That sounds pretty good! Definitely a great way for a completely fresh start. A good name can change your confidence completely! Go for it
[name]May[/name] I ask what your birthname is? It’s fine if you don’t want to say, just curious!
I think you could get away with a child being named [name]Nathaniel[/name]/[name]Natalie[/name]. [name]George[/name] Foreman named all five of his sons [name]George[/name], after all.
Yes she can “get away with it”, doesn’t mean it’s not way too much together. I could name all my kids after vegetables, but that doesn’t mean it’d sound good.
I think your name could be [name]Natalia[/name] and your son could be [name]Nathaniel[/name]. However, please don’t name your son [name]Nathaniel[/name] and your daughter [name]Natalie[/name]. It really is too close, like [name]Michael[/name] and [name]Michelle[/name].
I think [name]Natalia[/name] and [name]Nathaniel[/name] works better than [name]Natalia[/name] and [name]Nathalie[/name], these two are waaay to close [name]IMO[/name]. If you met a mother and a daughter named [name]Anna[/name] and [name]Anne[/name], or [name]Marie[/name] and [name]Marie[/name], wouldn’t you find it just a tiny bit boring? No offense meant here, of course! I do think that having [name]Nathalie[/name] as a future daughter’s middle name is a great idea:)
