[name]Hi[/name] everyone!
Not wondering if everyone notices this too, but I think that some names on Nameberry have multiple errors in the definition of the name or where the name derives from. Okay, sorry if I’m not making any sense, guys. I think you know what I mean, though? For example: Nameberry says that [name]Lila[/name] means “night” in Arabic. However, [name]Lila[/name] also means night in Hebrew. So shouldn’t Hebrew be up in the origins too? This can happen with any language and word.
Sometimes, though, there could be a different language with that name, but with a totally different meaning. Here’s a example using just letters as words:
Name: CCCC
Origin: XXXX
Meaning: PPPP
Okay, so, for this random name, CCCC, my reaction would be: Wait. I know that in the language XXXX, CCCC means PPPP. But in the language OOOO, CCCC means QQQQ. Shouldn’t that be up there?
Or it could be something like the name [name]Lila[/name], where the name has the same meaning in Hebrew, it just isn’t up there for some reason.
Anyway. [name]Just[/name] wanted to start a thread so that people can post names’ additional meanings in different languages or even the same language. That way, Nameberry can fix these little issues. Okay, let’s hear some new meanings!
XOXO,
