High risk pregnancy...but ready to talk names

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all,

I am just entering the second trimester of a high risk pregnancy. I have had recurrent miscarriages and some complications with this pregnancy as well, but so far things are looking ok. I’m a huge name nerd but haven’t ventured here yet for fear of losing this little one as well. Would love some feedback on the options we have come up with!

For a boy, [name_m]Walter[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] NN [name_m]Walt[/name_m]
For a girl, [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] [name_u]Patrice[/name_u] ([name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]–meaning blind faith, as we have prayed so much for this second child) NN [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Cece[/name_f]

Big brother is [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] [name_m]Harrison[/name_m], NN [name_u]Vinny[/name_u] and [name_m]Vince[/name_m]

Our boy’s name is pretty well set since we both love [name_m]Walter[/name_m]. Girl’s name is still up for some debate, as I’m not a huge fan of the nickname [name_f]Cece[/name_f]. I like that [name_f]Lily[/name_f] could be an unusual nickname for it. Other girls’ names we like are [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f], [name_f]Lilla[/name_f], [name_f]Tea[/name_f]. Any suggestions or thoughts are appreciated!

Thanks,
[name_f]Emily[/name_f]

I like [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f], and love the meaning and its significance to you. I think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] works very well as a nickname, but since [name_f]CeCe[/name_f] is more obvious, if you really do not like it, it may not be the best choice for you. Out of your other choices, I love [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] - this would work very well with [name_m]Vincent[/name_m]. Btw, I love [name_m]Walter[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u], very sweet, especially with the nn [name_m]Walt[/name_m]! Good luck with the pregnancy and I hope everything goes well for you.

I hope all goes well for you! [name_m]Walter[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] is perfect! [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] [name_u]Patrice[/name_u] is great too, especially because of the meaning. I love [name_f]Lily[/name_f] as an unexpected nickname. Some people may try to call her [name_f]Cece[/name_f], but just correct them and move on. If this really bothers you, I like [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] as well. [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] is a cute little nickname.

Your names are fantastic.

I like both names. Although I prefer [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] to [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] - what about [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] [name_u]Patrice[/name_u]?

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] [name_u]Patrice[/name_u]? [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] (loo-SEE-uh, lou-CHEE-ah or LOO-sha) is the patron saint of the blind so it would give you the meaning without the nickname you dislike being quite so forefront (though Cici is still there). Lots of options for nicknames for [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] as well - [name_f]Lux[/name_f], [name_f]Lucie[/name_f], [name_f]Lulu[/name_f], [name_f]Lu[/name_f]…

You could also do [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] [name_u]Patrice[/name_u] (since [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is just the English form of [name_f]Lucia[/name_f]).

[name_f]EDIT[/name_f] - oooh I also just found [name_f]Odilia[/name_f]/[name_f]Odila[/name_f] a saint who was born blind but gained sight when she was baptized. I figure the name might be a little out there for you, with classics like [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] and [name_m]Walter[/name_m], but the meaning is so lovely I had to share! [name_f]Odila[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] [name_u]Patrice[/name_u]? (nicknames could be [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Lila[/name_f], [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_f]Didi[/name_f]…)

I definitely prefer [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] to the other girl names and I think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] works well as a nickname. Not a big fan of [name_m]Walter[/name_m] but if you love it, go for it

I prefer Sylvanie to [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f], and it’s less known (found it in [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]'s [name_u]Les[/name_u] Miserables recently). Best wishes!

[name_f]Odilia[/name_f] is pretty! [name_m]How[/name_m] do you pronounce it, exactly? We do like [name_f]Lucia[/name_f]/[name_f]Lucy[/name_f], but have a close family member of the same name. Thanks for the suggestions!

I love the name [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]! I think it is VASTLY underused. It is so feminine and reminds me of antique lace. And [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] [name_u]Patrice[/name_u] is just beautiful. BTW, nickname her whatever you like. My friend’s name is [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and everyone tries to nn her [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]. She was named after her grandmother and goes by [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] and corrects people if they start to call her [name_u]Charlie[/name_u].

[name_f]Odilia[/name_f] is pronounced oh-[name_f]DEE[/name_f]-lee-uh or oh-[name_f]DEAL[/name_f]-yuh. Anglicized spelling is [name_f]Odelia[/name_f] (which might be easier). Other variants include [name_f]Ottilia[/name_f] and [name_f]Otylia[/name_f]. [name_f]Glad[/name_f] you liked it!
