You Berries have been amazing with suggestions on my previous thread! We’re less than 3 weeks out now and we wanted some last minute suggestions before we finalize the hospital list. I recently came across this thread from last year and really resonated with the imagery of an outdoorsy, mountain-loving girl who isn’t afraid of a little dirt, but also has a reflective/intellectual side to her. Perhaps her books have smudges of dirt on them, but are still well-loved. She’s the girl I’ve been trying to name this whole time! DH likes the original post’s description too, so I want to take advantage! There were some great suggestions on that thread, but I wanted to see what other fresh ideas and combos are out there. What would you name this girl?
Bree
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u]
[name_f]Eleni[/name_f]
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_u]Emerson[/name_u]
[name_u]Emery[/name_u]/Emerie (I like the latter spelling better, but the former feels a bit more outdoorsy)
[name_u]Blair[/name_u]
[name_u]Arya[/name_u] (I once met a little girl named [name_u]Arya[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], or AJ)
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] @hyacinthbucket I like [name_u]Brooke[/name_u] from your suggestions.
I hope these names fit the style you are looking for.
Alice comes to my mind right away. It’s tailored and literary and if paired with a more adventurous, nature-themed mn would seem pretty perfect for the vibe you’re going for. Something like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Bryony[/name_f] or [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u], perhaps?
Love the previous suggestion of [name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]! Also seconding [name_u]Brooke[/name_u], [name_f]Annie[/name_f], [name_f]Tess[/name_f], and [name_u]Delaney[/name_u].
Trillium is also a cool name (it’s a flower that mainly grows in mountainous areas or at least I’ve only seen on mountains).
Trillium [name_f]Sojourner[/name_f]
Your description also makes me think of [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]’s [name_m]Web[/name_m], more specifically the daughter who adopts [name_m]Wilbur[/name_m] —> [name_f]Fern[/name_f]
I also agree with [name_f]Heidi[/name_f]. It was the name that immediately sprang to mind. [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] is another name that describes this kind of girl for me. I know most probably think it’s more feminine and frilly, but not for me.
The first name that came to mind is [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]. Others that spring to mind are [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], [name_u]Frankie[/name_u], [name_u]Scout[/name_u], [name_u]Billie[/name_u], [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u], [name_u]Kit[/name_u], [name_u]June[/name_u]/Juno and [name_f]Freya[/name_f].
All I can think of is [name_f]Belle[/name_f]. The princess [name_f]Belle[/name_f] was both very literate, her first scenes were of her reading and completely oblivious to the world around her. And in the following scenes she’s off riding her horse in search for her missing father.
