Historical Fiction

I’m writing a story that takes place in Colonial [name]America[/name] during the Revolution. I’ll list a few of my names below so that you can get a feel for what kind of names I’m needing for secondary characters. [name]Feel[/name] free to post any that you think will work, and also I’d love feedback on the names I already have! Thanks!

Ladies
[name]Virginia[/name] ([name]Ginny[/name])
[name]Agatha[/name]
[name]Sarah[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name]
Miette
[name]Jane[/name]
[name]Mary[/name] ([name]Mollie[/name])
[name]Lydia[/name]
[name]Carissa[/name]
[name]Dorothy[/name] ([name]Dolly[/name])

Gentlemen
[name]Benjamin[/name] ([name]Ben[/name])
[name]Thomas[/name]
[name]Silas[/name]
[name]James[/name]
[name]Charles[/name]
[name]Elijah[/name]
[name]Virgil[/name]
[name]Christopher[/name]
[name]John[/name]
[name]Marshall[/name]
[name]Edward[/name]

I don’t know much about the American Revolution, but Biblical seems like a pretty good way to go with regards to naming. Also for men, maybe surnames as they could be given their mother’s maiden name as a first name, like [name]Marshall[/name].
