I have posted a couple of times in the past. We are expecting a girl in early [name]September[/name]. I have searched high and low until I’m blue in the face, we have only come up with a few names but not sure any are “the one” and now I’ve really hit a wall. Maybe you all can help push me along
We have a [name]Son[/name]~Koston [name]Patrick[/name] and a Daughter~[name]Nella[/name] [name]Annaliese[/name]. Surname is very tricky to work with (ugh!)~House.
So far we like~
[name]Clara[/name] (my favorite but I’m afraid it blends too much with [name]Nella[/name]? Really [name]LOVE[/name] it though.)
[name]Elin[/name] (eee-lin, we both like this one a lot but hate the debate/confusion about a correct pronunciation)
[name]Ainsley[/name] (has been a long time in the running but I started to like it a bit less. maybe just feel like there are better options out there)
[name]Ellie[/name] (Hubby’s favorite of all time. I like it but dont love it)
Also like~
[name]Aria[/name]
[name]Carys[/name] (though I’m not completely positive of how to pronounce this one)
Others I (or we) like but dont work are~ [name]Adley[/name], [name]Adalyn[/name], [name]Astrid[/name], [name]Maris[/name], [name]Sunday[/name], [name]Pearl[/name], Maren.
Middle names are up in the air as well. Possibly [name]Isabel[/name] or [name]Katherine[/name]. Would like to stick with a family name for the middle spot but lacking inspiration.
My favourites are [name]Clara[/name], [name]Elin[/name] and [name]Carys[/name]. I love all three equally, they’re stunning! [name]Carys[/name] is pronounced with a short “a” and rhyming with [name]Paris[/name]. I think any of those three would sound good with their siblings and surname. Good luck!
Thank you for the opinion! I was saying [name]Carys[/name] correctly so that’s a plus! I’m doubtful many around here would know how to say it so it would take some educating but I grew up with a difficult name myself. I was told by a friend that [name]Nella[/name] and [name]Clara[/name] blended into each other and sound a bit matchy. I can kind of see that but love the name so I’m glad you dont think so!
If it reassures you at all, I teach ballet and heard [name]Carys[/name] for the first time in class, I got the pronunciation fine from the start. It’s really pretty and fairly intuitive, I think.
I think it would be too matchy to have an [name]Ellie[/name] and a [name]Nellie[/name] but maybe you would like an [name]Elvy[/name]/[name]Elvie[/name]/[name]Elvira[/name]/[name]Ethel[/name]?
I would avoid [name]Carys[/name] as it is too matchy with brother Koston.
[name]Ainsley[/name] is lovely but not a great match with [name]Nella[/name]. I think [name]Anita[/name] and [name]Nella[/name] work better together
[name]Clara[/name] is lovely but it is the same sound as Koston so that is why I strenuously suggest that you go with [name]Claudia[/name] which is lovely.
[name]Aria[/name] is lovely, [name]Aria[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name]
And
Seems like you like short names for girls. I have to say i kind of don’t think you are there yet. I honestly don’t see any of these as a sister for Koston and [name]Nella[/name]. [name]Nella[/name], while unique is very girly to me. So [name]Elin[/name] doesn’t work. [name]Aria[/name], and [name]Clara[/name] are too popular in comparison, [name]Ainsley[/name] is pretty popular as well. [name]Carys[/name] is less popular, but [name]IMO[/name] sounds odd with Koston, probably because both have the “[name]Ca[/name]” sound and an s. [name]Ellie[/name] is too close to [name]Nella[/name] [name]IMO[/name]…
But lets see if we can come up with something you will love!
Koston, [name]Nella[/name], and [name]Odette[/name]
Koston, [name]Nella[/name] and [name]Aris[/name] (like [name]Carys[/name] with out the C. Meaning ‘the best’)
[name]Kosta[/name], [name]Nella[/name], and [name]Lois[/name]
[name]Kosta[/name], [name]Nella[/name], and [name]Lore[/name]
[name]Kosta[/name], [name]Nella[/name], and [name]Era[/name]/[name]Ara[/name]
[name]Kosta[/name], [name]Nella[/name], and [name]Aura[/name]
[name]Kosta[/name], [name]Nella[/name], and [name]Gia[/name]
Kostam [name]Nella[/name], and [name]Lotus[/name]
Thanks! I agree with most of what you pointed out and appreciate the ideas! There is some problem with every name it seems. And the ones without problems I just plain don’t like. I do feel [name]Elin[/name] is quite feminine, even beside [name]Nella[/name]. Probably works better than any of the others.
Your right, I like mostly short, sweet, feminine but not frilly girl names. Also strongly prefer not overly popular.
This has become all but impossible and very frustrating!
Thank you for the ideas and the links! Koston will not be getting a brother…this shop is closing down
I like the look of [name]Tallie[/name] and want to look at the rest of the list. Is [name]Tallie[/name] pronounced tall-ee? Or [name]Tally[/name] (like keeping score)?
I would go with [name]Clara[/name], I do not think that [name]Clara[/name] sounds close to [name]Nella[/name] at all!! I think that [name]Ellie[/name] and [name]Nella[/name] are way too close however.
[name]May[/name] I suggest [name]Clara[/name] [name]Ainsley[/name] as a possible combination?? I think the flow works out rather well, and goes great with the last name also!
