Wow! So much great feedback! I’m going to try and address everyone but apologies in advance if I inadvertently miss anyone.
@mj21 - thank you! [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Zelda[/name_f], and [name_u]River[/name_u] were all on our list for DD and [name_u]Winter[/name_u] would’ve been if I didn’t have a close friend name her daughter this.
@wandsworth - thanks for responding to both threads!
@lyssxrjq - thanks! [name_f]Glad[/name_f] to hear you liked [name_u]Scout[/name_u] and I’m surprised to see [name_f]Sable[/name_f] at the top of your list as it has never seemed overly popular on NB
@wottyusername103 - thanks! You hit on several of my boy favorites. I’m interested to see you list [name_u]Blair[/name_u] as it’s one of my longtime favorites but I didn’t think it would work with [name_u]Scout[/name_u].
@wintersage - thank you! I chuckled seeing you suggest both winter and sage lol
@river_dweller - thank you! I had [name_m]Clarke[/name_m] on my list last time but had completely forgotten about it! Kestrel is also interesting. I love a good nature name so that’ll go on the long list for sure.
@alchemicallypurplefairy - thank you!
@midnightsky - thanks!
@eloiset - thank you! [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] is one of my longtime favorites but I worry it’s too feminine and gives off a completely different vibe to scout. Something to ponder. I also had [name_f]Fleur[/name_f] on my list last time but have similar concerns.
@pacifica - the very southern combo with [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] and [name_f]Nola[/name_f] is one of my favorite things about them. Someone else has mentioned that place names may be difficult with [name_u]Scout[/name_u] so I’ll have to think on that further.
@coddiwomple - I’m glad you think [name_u]Hero[/name_u] is usable. I love it in combination with [name_u]Scout[/name_u] but worry that the average person won’t be familiar with the history of use and that it would come across as pompous or in the very least ironic if the kid ended up being a bit of a wallflower.
@trigzy82 - thank you! I see what you mean about some of the names being a bit tongue-twistery with [name_u]Scout[/name_u]. I’m also glad to see some love for [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]. Finally, I actually love [name_f]Holiday[/name_f]! Such a cool name. I didn’t consider it last time as she was super close to Xmas and that felt really themey but I’m definitely adding it to the list now.
@sarah1800 - thank you!
@erin [name_f]Beth[/name_f] - thanks! I really like [name_u]Piper[/name_u], [name_u]Fifer[/name_u], and [name_u]Blair[/name_u]!
@greyblue - thank you for being so thorough!! Outdoorsy and adventurous is a vibe I would love for my kids names to give off so maybe I should explore that idea more. Also, good call on [name_u]Ridley[/name_u]. Definitely too much when you factor in that my parents have a dog called Bou (pr. [name_u]Boo[/name_u]). I also like your suggestions of [name_u]Wren[/name_u] and [name_f]Lumi[/name_f]!
@daniemc - thank you!
@susette - thanks, just looking at girls names here. While I admittedly love a good unisex name, I do have a hard time seeing how the goddess of the hunt/wilderness is obviously a male name. That being said, I agree that [name_f]Juno[/name_f], [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] do all have an easy sort of flow with [name_u]Scout[/name_u]. I’m surprised (but pleased!) to see some love for Valkyrie as well.
@adeline_sophia - thank you! It seems I’m getting very mixed reviews of both xanthe and [name_f]Snow[/name_f] which is quite interesting.
