Hiya! I know this might be an odd topic/post, but I figured I'd give it a shot

Hi again! I know this probably isn’t the website/forum/thing/whatever to ask this on, but since this is a naming website, I figured I’d try it, like I said in the title.

Can you guys call me Felix with He/They pronouns? (Maybe by writing little blurbs or something?) I like writing, daydreaming, fantasy stories, history, playing the cello, theater, hiking, and nature! I’m also currently working on my baking skills and trying to do more moodboards/digital art.

I’m trans and I already have a chosen name, but it’s awfully similar to my deadname and it makes me dysphoric. (Katie → Caden). Also, any thoughts/suggestions/whatevers you guys have for me would be awesome!

Thank you for reading this, and I greatly appreciate any responses!

Cheers!!

Editing to add that I didn’t phrase that very well, haha. My intention was to ask you guys to maybe write little blurbs using my name and pronouns, but the comments I’ve gotten already are great!

Simple answer: of course!
Longer answer: I adore the name [name_m]Felix[/name_m], and to me, it sounds wonderful for you. What a solid, warm, sweet, and friendly name. Feels like a deep breath and a day spent outside! Incredible choice, and really very excited for you xxx

I’m not sure I understand the question because I’d call you whatever name you introduce yourself as regardless of your preferred pronouns. [name_m]Felix[/name_m] is a lovely name. It definitely feels masculine to me but is on the softer side.

just so you know, you can use pronoun dressing room & r/transtryouts to try out new names (: i recommend going there! plus, lots of lgbtq / trans discord servers have name / pronoun help channels, + there is the discord bot “trans bot” that works like pronoun dressing room

that said:

  • i have history class with felix later, and he said that he’ll let me borrow their notes if i need. they’re really nice!
  • felix left their jacket in the cafeteria, could you give this to him when you see him?
  • felix and i went on a hike yesterday! he showed me all the best trails in the area.
  • have you heard felix play the cello? they’re really good! i wonder how long he’s been playing?

If I had to describe [name_m]Felix[/name_m], I’d say that he’s a very creative person. He enjoys writing and drawing and he’s recently taken up baking too! They also play the cello and enjoys being outdoors!

I hope this is kind of what you meant! [name_m]Felix[/name_m] sounds great for you btw - it fits well with someone arty and creative and feels pretty in touch with nature to me too!

  • felix baked blueberry muffins last weekend, and he gave some of them to me! they were really delicious and i admire their baking skills.
  • does anyone know if felix is feeling okay? they looked sort of pale and tired at dress rehearsal yesterday and i haven’t seen him since!
  • don’t you think felix should enter the talent show with a cello piece? he’s really good!
  • last weekend felix and i went on a hike, and he managed to get a ladybug to climb all the way up their hand!
  • during art class, felix spent nearly the whole time sitting under a tree and daydreaming! i can’t believe them – he didn’t draw a thing! but it looked like he was having fun, so . . .

[name_u]Love[/name_u] the name [name_m]Felix[/name_m], I would definitely recognise it as a masculine name but l love the softer sound the X ending gives. I imagine it on someone who is creative, upbeat and maybe a little bit quirky! From your little description I think it sounds like a great match for you and I hope that it makes you feel more like yourself!

Hey there [name_m]Felix[/name_m],
I tried a few different writing pieces out on this. Really proud of you, [name_m]Felix[/name_m], for the person you are becoming. [name_u]Truly[/name_u].

I hope you find comfort and joy in them.

Some people are lucky, they start in the right body and don’t ache for another.
I climbed mountains, pulled up my bootstraps, kept one foot in front of the other to keep going.
When I get to safety and feel the comfort of the familiar sunshine, birds chirping, river flowing beside me, my adrenaline turns to peace.
[name_m]Cayden[/name_m] might be called out to me, but [name_m]Felix[/name_m] is what I answer to.
For I am happy, just in the name alone, I am happy.
I am [name_m]Felix[/name_m].

Sometimes the world around me feels so busy. People everywhere.
Got to get to class.
Got to get to work.
I’m late. I have to rush.
See you later.
I wear a badge that says [name_m]Cayden[/name_m]. It feels…annoying.
A convenience for others. Like an itchy sweater grandma buys.
I tug on the sweater, I tug on the name tag. None of it feels right.
But they finally see me a little better.
The people around me. Not enough to reach out for an introduction.
Enough to read the tag and keep on with their day.
I finally enter the world and the sun beats down on my face.
Welcoming me to the day.
I’m sweating under the sweater. I see my group up ahead.
I tug again at the itchy wool and look up again at the sun.
As I walk closer, I see smiling faces.
I rip the sweater off and throw it into the dumpster.
Along with the name tag.
A hand comes into view, extended from a friend.
Extended in greeting me.
“Hi, I’m Felix” I say, “happy to be here”.

Wonderful choice! Here are a couple mini blurbs to try out reading:

[name_m]Felix[/name_m] sat back in his chair trying to recall the way the wind stirred the leaves across the path on his last hike. He was trying to capture that peaceful feeling in his latest digital comic. He had purposefully not taken any pictures on the hike, knowing that it would be more beautiful to revisit that mountainside in his daydreams. The soft dappled greens were difficult to recreate in the bright pixels on the screen, but he had never shied away from a challenge before. He knew that the right combination of colors and prose would allow him to make the dreamy memories of his hike more tangible.

As his friends poured into the kitchen, [name_m]Felix[/name_m] centred his birthday cake on the table. It was the first layer cake he had made, and it felt just right to celebrate his first birthday hearing his new name sung around the candles. He had piped “FELIX” in a strong buttercream scrawl across the top, and surrounded it with a few music notes representing his favourite piece to play on the cello. His best friend ruffled his short hair as they lit the candles. [name_m]Felix[/name_m] couldn’t help but smile.
