If you’re writing in any vein of the romance genre, [name]Bennett[/name] is a great name. Classic male, strong, “manly”, etc. If you’re writing more of a non-fiction, sci-fi, etc I’d go with [name]Rueben[/name]. Different feel to it, but still decidedly “manly” without the swoon effect of [name]Bennett[/name].
The reason I voted for [name]Bennett[/name] is because I prefer the [name]Reuben[/name] spelling to [name]Ruben[/name].
Well it’s a series about a private detective, [name]Benny[/name] Snowden’s girlfriend. I want it to be modern yet noir at the same time
[name]Both[/name] are good names, but I get different vibes. [name]Bennett[/name] is more of partier, laid back, dedicated, smart but hasn’t got his life figured out yet. [name]Ruben[/name] is a little older, stable, kind, very family oriented. I couldn’t really get a feel of which one you’re [name]Benny[/name] is, so I chose [name]Bennett[/name] because you said he was 20 which is a good [name]Bennett[/name] age and also I prefer the name [name]Bennett[/name] to the name [name]Ruben[/name]. Would you mind telling me a little more about the character?
Of course, [name]Isabel[/name] [name]Benny[/name] is quite a humble character. He’s quite easy-going, he doesn’t really take offence to anything. He’s one of those friends that you have who has the weirdest thought process! A lot of the time when he’s not speaking he’s just thinking, not actually listening. I would say he’s very calm and decisive, but once he’s pissed off he can be a little firecracker! He comes from a damn-near ‘perfect’ all-American family, so he has excellent manners and is well-adjusted in life. He forgives easily but never forgets, and he doesn’t like to take what he can’t pay back. He’s independent, bright, strong-willed, and very very likable.
From your description of the names, I would say that [name]Bennett[/name] suits him more than [name]Ruben[/name], and I must say that I am leaning towards [name]Bennett[/name] a lot more now.
I like the spelling [name]Reuben[/name] more than [name]Ruben[/name] in general, but that aside, I like the name [name]Bennett[/name] more. It just seems to fit him.
