I’ve been in love with the name [name_m]Holden[/name_m] lately but would it work for a girl???
Yes, I think it would work for a girl. I think most people will associate the name with [name_m]Holden[/name_m] Caulfield, and I’m sure many people would think it was a little strange to see [name_m]Holden[/name_m] used for a girl, but I like it. If [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] can be used for a girl, I don’t see why [name_m]Holden[/name_m] can’t. You could potentially use [name_f]Holly[/name_f] as a nickname if you wanted.
Yes, I think it totally works.
Being that I tend to love male names on girls (don’t ask me why) I totally think a little girl could pull off [name_m]Holden[/name_m]. It’s adorable in my opinion though I feel a lot of people will say no. It’s like the question I asked the other day about using [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] for a girl. A lot of people said no way, yet, the more I think on it the more I like it on a girl. [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] is another one I think would work well for a girl.
For me, definitely not. I love the name [name_m]Holden[/name_m], but I just feel it’s all boy.
Not something I would do, but I guess if it ends up being your favorite when the time comes, maybe just add something girly in the middle so she’s got options?
I honestly wouldn’t and I say this as a person who helped name her goddaughter [name_m]Clarke[/name_m]. I just find it really unattractive. Like could you imagine a beautiful 20 something going to a career fair and introducing themselves as [name_m]Holden[/name_m]? I can’t. It’s your choice, though.
I think [name_m]Holden[/name_m] is an awesome boy name that I would never touch for a girl. [name_u]Harper[/name_u] or [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] have a unisex feel that is recognized as a girl name, I would go with something like that, or [name_f]Harlow[/name_f].
I think it’s really cute for a girl! We shouldn’t be gender-ing names, so why shouldn’t [name_m]Holden[/name_m] be used for a girl? I think it looks similar to [name_u]Holland[/name_u], as well as -an or -en ending “girl” names like [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] and [name_f]Karen[/name_f]
