We just found out we are expecting a third in [name]August[/name] and we want to have a girl and boy name picked out so we can name the baby at the 20 week ultrasound in a few weeks. Our daughter is Hollyn [name]Marie[/name]-[name]Claire[/name] and our son is [name]Hudson[/name] [name]Jacob[/name]. [name]Just[/name] by chance they are both H. We happened to love [name]Hudson[/name] and decided to not steer away from it just because it started with an H.
Now…are we stuck with H? Some family says we have to stay with H but I want to explore.
I like the following for a boy: [name]Bentley[/name], [name]Holden[/name], Holten, [name]Justice[/name], [name]Gibson[/name], [name]Lincoln[/name], Graiden, [name]Beckett[/name], [name]Harris[/name]
I have considered the following for a girl: Hatley ([name]Hattie[/name] for short), [name]Harper[/name], Brinely or Brinnley… I am at a loss for girl names.
What would you suggest? I need a name to flow but not necessarily start with H. Am I making a mistake by considering non H names???
I personally do not think you have to use an ‘H’ name for your third child. If you did use an ‘H’ name for the third child, then I think it would be necessary to continue the theme for the fourth child, fifth child, etc…
From your list, I like [name]Lincoln[/name] or [name]Beckett[/name] & [name]Brinley[/name]. If you do want to continue the ‘H’ theme, then [name]Harper[/name] and [name]Harris[/name] are cute.
I will suggest…
[name]Piper[/name]
[name]Briony[/name]
[name]Marlow[/name]
[name]Keely[/name]
[name]Delaney[/name]
[name]Tatum[/name]
[name]Quinn[/name]
You could also continue the slight trend you have with the last parts of your children’s names- something with that “en” sound, even if it’s “yn” or “on” [name]Holden[/name] works, but there’s another H and you would definitely be locked in! [name]Lincoln[/name], [name]Gibson[/name] and Graedon from your list keep the “trend” going.
[name]Weston[/name] and [name]Nolan[/name] are great from the pp. Others could be [name]Camden[/name], [name]Mason[/name], or [name]Ryan[/name].
Or [name]Arden[/name], [name]Maren[/name], Elowen, [name]Seren[/name], etc for girls.
[name]Just[/name] an idea. I think you can do whatever you want for the third child. Maybe not the fourth or fifth, like christabel mentioned, if you end up keeping up the H.
I think you have great lists. I would not feel obliged in any way to choose an H name. I would focus more on how the name flows with the name of your other children and your last name.
I love the name [name]Lincoln[/name] and it is on my “possible list” for a boy expected in [name]May[/name]. I think the name [name]Brighton[/name] would be lovely for a little girl and would go well with your other childrens’ names.
First of all, I love Hollyn and [name]Hudson[/name]. If it were me I would stick with another H name. My siblings and I all have names that start with A.
My mom’s brother married a woman with the female version of his own name and named two out of three kids with the matching first letter. The final child ended up with a completely random name and the family constantly drew attention to it. He finally asked his parents to legally change his given name to start with the name letter.
My advice is that if you choose a different letter for your next child, you don’t draw any attention to it.
I think it depends on whether you’re planning to have more children. If [name]Baby[/name] #3 is the last, I think he/she will feel excluded for not being a part of the “H Club.” If you’re planning another or two, I don’t think it’ll be a problem to “deviate” from the H theme.
if you wanted to use H you could but I dont think you have to.
If you did use H then I like [name]Holden[/name] fr a boy, but that may rhyme too much with your other kids names… But I dont think Holten or [name]Harris[/name] go too well with the other names.
If you didnt use an H name then I love [name]Beckett[/name] or [name]Justice[/name]!!! I think they both sound great with Hollyn and Hudso
If you used an H name for a girl I like [name]Harper[/name] the best! It great with Hollyn and [name]Hudson[/name]!
If you dont use an H name I dont really like your other options but what about…
[name]Emery[/name]/[name]Emerie[/name]?
[name]Avery[/name]/[name]Averie[/name]?
[name]Belle[/name]?
[name]Quinn[/name]?
[name]Annabelle[/name]?
[name]Georgia[/name]?
[name]June[/name]?
[name]Romy[/name]?
[name]Scarlett[/name]?
[name]Stella[/name]?
or [name]Violet[/name]?
I think those are all beautiful names that flow well with Hollyn and [name]Hudson[/name]!
Also If you dont go with an H name for a girl, it might be a good idea to go with a unisex name since Hollyn is unisex so that might make it flow a little better. and If you do go with and H name dont go too old fashioned like [name]Harris[/name] or Hatley b/c yor other names are more “modern” names.
Thanks Lover 12 and all the others. If I do stay with the H themes there are not many options for H girl names. We have searched and searched and the only modern one we can come up with is [name]Harper[/name] and my husband is just ok with it. He wants to see more options. I searched all kind of name sites and no great modern H names for girls. That is why I was thinking of branching out. But this probably will be our last so I am back and forth on if we should use an H…
Such a hard decision. I am at a loss. Our little girl insists this one is a girl and we have agreed on several boy names but it is the girl ones we are just so unsru
I wouldn’t feel restricted to H names. You didn’t name [name]Hudson[/name] with an H on purpose, you just loved [name]Hudson[/name]. It’s hard enough to find a name both you and hubby love, don’t limit yourselves to one letter! Of the three kids in my family, two start with the same letter and none of the 3 of us ever gave it one thought. I never heard my younger brother say anything about “feeling left out” or anything of the sort. Kids don’t think of these things! [name]Even[/name] being a life long name lover, I never thought it was odd - I just knew my parents had picked names they loved.
That being said, I love [name]Hadley[/name] for Hollyn’s sister (would spell it with a d though) and Haddie as nickname is adorable. I love pp’s idea of [name]Brighton[/name] nn [name]Bright[/name] too - I think it could be for boy or girl. Usually I love [name]Holden[/name] but I find it too close to [name]Hudson[/name]. [name]Bennett[/name], [name]Briony[/name], [name]Tatum[/name], [name]Quinn[/name] are all really nice too.
Well I personally don’t think you have to stick with an h name I do like the n ending suggestion but also anything you like would be great. I am not for matchy names anyway. Clad you used the name you liked though for your son even though it was an accident. I have name rules I most likely won’t break unless I am just head over heals for a name.
if this is your last, I think you should stick with H. You have great H options. Another H girls na,es thats more modern is [name]Hadley[/name] nn [name]Hattie[/name]. <3
I like the idea of continuing the “H” theme… here are a few girl name suggestions…however if you don’t find an H name that you really love then I would suggest trying something different…
