Homecoming solider from Afganastan's baby (Ick!)

They named their sweet little baby girl [name]BOSTON[/name]. Ick!

Not a fan. My mother’s friend named her son that, and I don’t even like it on a boy! I also know a boy named [name]Houston[/name]…I just don’t like city names. I mean, there’s [name]Austin[/name] and [name]Dallas[/name]…and then there’s others. The only place name I’d ever consider using is [name]Sydney[/name].

I like [name]Boston[/name] for a boy thanks to “[name]Boston[/name]” [name]Rob[/name] from survivor.

Hehehe [name]Boston[/name] [name]Rob[/name]!
Oh yeah.

OP, I get where you’re coming from… but to sidestep that…
I’m just not a fan of city baby names.

Because of the bombings? Oh dear, you can be patriotic without going that far or being so obvious! Big dislike.

Sarahmezz, she was born before the bombings happened. I think the baby is 2 months old.

I don’t like place names other than [name]Vienna[/name], and that is a guilty pleasure!

Still bad, even before the bombings.

Bad, regardless of bombings.

Personally, I really dislike place names, with a few exceptions, and [name]Boston[/name] sounds particularly masculine.

I don’t like it on a boy. But on a girl its just really bad. And there are like no nicknames.

I am partial to the name [name]Merida[/name] myself, which is a city in Mexico and Spain. But I am not really into place names either. Except I do like [name]India[/name] and a few others but they are more guilty pleasures.

Oh, come on, there’s way worse names out there than [name]Boston[/name]! I think it’s kind of cute, actually. [name]Even[/name] on a girl. There aren’t a lot of good nicknames, but it’s short and sweet and crisp.

My boss had a student named [name]Baltimore[/name] once. It’s a little bit of a guilty pleasure name for me. I think it’s kind of cool.

I used to think I hated place names until my SO pointed out I had both [name]Merida[/name] and Illyria in my top ten.
I think [name]Boston[/name] is a bit unfortunate for someone born this year - people will associate your parents naming you with the bombings. I’d go as far as to say that two months ago I would have just disliked it, now I hate it. (Not that I hate [name]Boston[/name] but… oh, you know what I mean.)
