Honest opinion of Adette

I’ve been searching for the perfect girl name to go with my daughter’s name, [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]. I want something somewhat different but not too strange. Please give me your honest opinion of the name [name_f]Adette[/name_f].

That’s a new name to me. My first impression of it was that it sounds like “audit”… though I’m not really sure how to pronounce it.

It sounds docile and sweet. I’m not sure if that’s exactly what you’re looking for but it reminds me a lot of [name_f]Odette[/name_f]!

To me it looks like someone meant [name_f]Odette[/name_f] or [name_f]Anette[/name_f] and got it wrong. I also think [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_f]Adette[/name_f] are a little too matchy.

Yes, it made me think of [name_f]Odette[/name_f].

I’ve never heard [name_f]Adette[/name_f] before, but as previous posters said, it makes me think of [name_f]Odette[/name_f]. Actually, [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_f]Odette[/name_f] would be lovely together! [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_f]Adele[/name_f] would be another sweet pairing and for some reason seems a bit less ‘matchy’ than [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_f]Adette[/name_f].

It definitely reminds me of [name_f]Odette[/name_f], which I think works better (both with [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and as a name generally) I don’t mind [name_f]Adette[/name_f], but - I don’t know if I’m pronouncing it right - I can’t make it flow when I say it. It feels slightly clunky to pronounce.

I first pronounced it like ‘a debt at the bank’
Once I got over that I quite like it but I think odette would be better

[name_f]Adette[/name_f] seems to fall a bit flat to me. I’m not a big fan of it as a sibling name with [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]. I agree with previous posters that [name_f]Odette[/name_f] or [name_f]Adele[/name_f] would be a better option.

I think it’s lovely, and I prefer it over [name_f]Odette[/name_f]. My only concern is that it sounds like a debt.

It looks like “a debt” to me and I can’t shake that.
