I sort of like it too. I think it’s something that could grow on me and it’s close to the name [name]Malachi[/name] so I think others would be accepting of it too.

I confess I would have first pronounced it MECK-ee or maybe MECK-hee. I like the sound of the name, but would have spelled it [name]Makai[/name] or Mekai (not sure if that loses any cultural importance). It’s not my style, but I don’t dislike it.

Prefer the Hawaiian name [name]Makai[/name], less pronunciation confusion and it’s a nature name “towards the sea”
Though I would most likely have pronounced it wrong without your key, I do like the sound of it. Honestly, it doesn’t sound made-up at all and you could have very easily convinced me it had biblical origins.

I like the sound of meh-K’EYE’. I agree that it sounds like a nickname for Malachai, which is also a cool name.

I like it. I think I prefer it spelled [name]Makai[/name]. The [name]Mekhi[/name] spelling just makes me think of [name]Mekhi[/name] Phifer, and I also think you would run into more pronunciation issues.
