Let’s take a look shall we. With [name]Miya[/name], I see it and thought it was pronounced [name]Mia[/name]. The creative spelling doesn’t really work to clarify its pronunciation for me. [name]Belle[/name] is a bit too popular with [name]Isabel[/name] as the original with [name]Isabella[/name] as #1. Here’s what works for me though: the syllable count. With such a long last two-part last name, i’m glad you chose a one syllable middle with a two syllable first. I suppose you could reverse it but the rhythmic flow’s great since it’s varied and short to balance the last name.
If you don’t like the [name]Maya[/name] spelling, I would say go with [name]Maia[/name]. [name]Miya[/name] looks made up and I suspect most people would pronounce it [name]Mia[/name] at first look, as I did. [name]Maia[/name] [name]Belle[/name] is quite pretty.
Great responses
[name]Miya[/name] isn’t a creative spelling though, but it is a Japanese baby name. It is also pronouced Mee-yuh traditionally. Heh. From posting on other forums, the average person seems more likely to pronounce it My-yuh and [name]Maia[/name] as [name]May[/name]-yuh… It is probably silly that I just don’t like the spelling [name]Maya[/name].
Perhaps I should save [name]Belle[/name] for a potential second daughter when [name]Isabelle[/name] isn’t so common. I’ve planned to use my maiden as a middle name since I was a child, though.
What do you think of…
[name]Maia[/name] [name]Faye[/name] von Eberstein?
[name]Maia[/name] [name]Aileen[/name] von Eberstein? (family middle name)
[name]Maia[/name] [name]Fawn[/name] von Eberstein? (mother’s middle name)
I love [name]Maia[/name] [name]Belle[/name] and would use it no matter what the popularity of [name]Isabelle[/name] type names is right now. I would spell it [name]Maia[/name] though.
I agree with most people about [name]Miya[/name] being pronounced Mee-a. But I think you should totally use [name]Belle[/name]! What an awesome maiden name to be able to use as a middle. Seems perfect to me! The whole name flows well.
I guess I’m in the minory, I didnt even think that [name]Miya[/name] might be mispronounced as [name]Mia[/name] (I saw it as a form of [name]Maya[/name].)
I accually like [name]Miya[/name] [name]Belle[/name], it’s cute and I think that you shood stick with it.
HTH
I (also) thought [name_f]Miya[/name_f] was pronounced [name_f]Mia[/name_f]. [name_f]Belle[/name_f] is an okay middle name to go with it, especially with such a long last name. But [name_f]Belle[/name_f] has become immensely popular with all the [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]'s and [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]'s.
I suggest [name_f]Maia[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Miya[/name_f]. Some nice middle names for [name_f]Maia[/name_f] are:
I don’t see [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] becoming uncommon any time soon. I think [name_f]Maia[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] is lovely, and flows very well with your surname. [name_m]How[/name_m] lucky you are to have such a great maiden name to pass on to your daughter! I do think you should go with [name_f]Maia[/name_f] over [name_f]Miya[/name_f], because [name_f]Miya[/name_f] just looks like [name_f]Mia[/name_f] with an extraneous Y.
