[name_f]My[/name_f] biggest name crush is [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f].
But.
Our last name is Horn, so we are avoiding any noun or adjective first names. [name_f]My[/name_f] concern is that [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f] will almost certainly be nicknamed [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], and then she’ll be known as [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] Horn. Like a horn that is rosy…
Would it have occurred to you if I hadn’t mentioned it? How much teasing might this attract?
I don’t think its a problem at all. [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] Horn isn’t something that means anything. If it was [name_m]Thorn[/name_m], that would be a different story. I actually think [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f] Horn is stunning
Also I meant to add that I know a couple Rosannas who absolutely do not go by [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] or [name_f]Rose[/name_f], so I think these nicknames can be avoided with [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f] unless you want them! I think with [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f] its more of an issue if your last name rhymes like [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f] [name_u]Dana[/name_u], if thats not the situation you’re totally good
I’ve known a couple of people with the surname Horn so Horn does feel quite “surnamey” to me,m and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] feels very namey, so I wouldn’t have made that connection really.
[name_f]Rosanna[/name_f] is bright, bold and sharp!
I actually have more of a problem with [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f] Horn than [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] Horn because in my accent it sounds very similar to “Rose and a Horn”
I don’t think that’s a problem at all! My name is Hazel and I’ve never thought that it looked like my color-name was describing my mast name… Rosie Horn is totally great!
I personally know a child named [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] Horn, who goes by [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], and I’ve never even thought of the relation of [name_f]Rose[/name_f] + Horn. [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f] Horn is very beautiful!!!
This wasn’t my first thought, but I have a hard time unhearing it now that I’ve seen it. [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f] is beautiful and I don’t think this is a deal breaker.
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] & [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] don’t bother me or sound too descriptive. I know so many that neither come off as plant/color names.
