Honest opinions about Zoe with brother Leo

This is a two part question:

We are expecting a girl in [name]July[/name], big brother is [name]Leo[/name]. Names are such an issue this time!

[name]Zoe[/name] has been our all time favorite girl name forever. If [name]Leo[/name] was a girl he would have been [name]Zoe[/name], without question. My husband still loves it and is pushing heavily for it. When I have truly imagined my daughter, I really can picture her as [name]Zoe[/name] (I think the name fits my personality as well as the flavor I want for a girl’s name).

My [name]ONE[/name] reservation – and it’s not popularity, trendiness, how the name will age, spelling, etc. – is whether it’s too much of a mirror image of [name]Leo[/name] to make it an appropriate sibling name. Are people going to think we are nuts for pairing [name]Leo[/name] with [name]Zoe[/name]? Is it a perfect match or over the top? Am I being crazy and neurotic or is the matchiness a real issue? Also, I would not consider another spelling if that helps you answer.

The second part of my question is that the only other name that we’re really considering at this point is [name]Ivy[/name]. Any thoughts about [name]Ivy[/name] with [name]Leo[/name]? Or about [name]Ivy[/name] vs. [name]Zoe[/name] in general? Which would you choose?

I really like [name]Zoe[/name] & [name]Leo[/name] together! I don’t think they’re too matchy at all. Sounds way better than [name]Leo[/name] & [name]Ivy[/name] in my opinion.

I prefer [name]Ivy[/name] over [name]Zoe[/name], but I think both sound great with [name]Leo[/name]. All three are short and spunky names.

I think they sound great together but it’s up to you. I’m not a fan of [name]Ivy[/name]. Good luck!

Yes they’re similar but if it’s a name you both love then I say go for it. I pretty conservative regarding similar names b/c of the potential for confusion but I don’t think it’s a big deal.
