Honest opinions: If you met a little boy named...

[name]Dodge[/name], what would you think?

It’s a family surname for me, and I just wonder if with all the little boys named [name]Tripp[/name] and [name]Chase[/name] and [name]Chance[/name], if this is really that much of a stretch. You can be honest!

[name]Dodge[/name]? Sorry, my mind goes straight to the vehicle brand. Then again, I have been playing the alphabet game while traveling a lot, so that could explain it… lol. It might be more usable as a MN. Like [name]August[/name] [name]Dodge[/name] or [name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Dodge[/name]? I really think anything could go in the MN spot…

Good luck!

Hmm… It’s actually kind of cool! I think the right little boy could totally pull it off. It would sound awesome with a cool middle name, and I think it’s quite usable for the right person.

First: I think of the cars. Second: The expression “Get out of [name]Dodge[/name].” Third: “[name]Dodge[/name] City” Fourth: [name]Dodge[/name] Ball

Honest Opinion: I think of the verb. You know, dodging stuff that’s flying through the air. Bullets, tennis balls, etc. Lol. If it’s got family significance, good for you, but not everyone will know that when they see it. I like Ashthedreamer’s suggestion of it being the middle name.

Agreed, I think of cars too. It’s definitely a name that evokes a powerful image but I think the association with the car brand is not something that most people can ignore.

I love it! There was a football movie where [name]George[/name] [name]Clooney[/name] played a real life character named [name]Dodge[/name]! I know three little boys named [name]FORD[/name], very cute!!

My mind went first to the car, then to the Artful Dodger. Neither one’s necessarily a bad association for me, though.

I feel like with the name Doge the child would be made fun of. especially when he is in PE and they play [name]Dodge[/name] Ball…that’s my opinion.

I agree with [name]Ashley[/name] and Amberdaydream. I think a little boy named [name]Dodge[/name] would get teased endlessly. It could make an interesting middle name though!

I’d want to hug him madly and keep him tucked away in my pocket forever. [name]Dodge[/name] reminds me of the Artful Dodger, which for me is the best character from [name]Oliver[/name] Twist

I actually know a teenage boy named [name]Dodge[/name]. I’m not sure if its his given name or a nn, but its the only name he goes by. He is a very cool, creative, adventures guy! I’ve always thought the name suited him well and would be happy to come across another [name]Dodge[/name] =)

Afterthought: have you considered [name]Docherty[/name] (dok-er-tee), [name]Dominic[/name], [name]Donovan[/name] or [name]Dorian[/name] nn [name]Dodge[/name]? Or even just any name beginning with D like [name]David[/name] or [name]Daniel[/name].

I think you’d be setting him up for a fair bit of teasing… “Oh let’s dodge him.”

Redneck, named after his dad’s favorite pick-up. Probably has a brother named [name]John[/name] Deere

I’d want to get the heck out of there. Sorry, I couldn’t resist. Not for a child please.

(((((LOL))))) I am not American, but I got the drift of that image! Maybe the other son is called [name]Jack[/name] [name]Daniel[/name]?

I think it sounds like the dad is a car nut/ grease monkey and chose the name. My image is of a spunky kid who likes to fight and while loved to bits by his parents perhaps is from a less affluent background.
If [name]Dodge[/name] were a mn, and used within the family as a nn then I think it is more usable.

Honestly…a little bit of a stretch. My opinion anyway…but these days there are no rules.

I can see it for a kid…but I can’t see an adult introducing himself as [name]Dodge[/name]. I agree and suggest using it as a middle name.

My first thought was dodge ball. I read the question to my husband, and he immediately said dodge ball. For what it’s worth, I didn’t think of the car brand until I read the other replies.

I do like the idea of using it as a nickname for some other D name. I think any D name would work.
