I am contemplating 4 baby girl names and I need your opinions on them, if you don’t mind. The names are [name]Julia[/name], [name]Julian/namea, [name]Juliet[/name], and [name]Violet[/name]. In my opinion, these names are not overly popular, at least where I live, and that is my goal. I don’t want my daughter to have to go by her first name plus last initial.
So, what do you think of [name]Julia[/name], [name]Juliana[/name]/[name]Julianna[/name], [name]Juliet[/name], and [name]Violet[/name]? Please be honest!
I like [name]Juliet[/name] the best. I am not a fan of [name]Julianna[/name]. I have a friend named [name]Juliana[/name] and she prefers [name]Juli[/name]. I don’t know if you plan on nicknaming her, but might want to keep the idea of [name]Juli[/name] in mind.
[name]Julia[/name] - I absolutely love it. A good friend of mine has the name, and it suits her perfectly. It’s so classic and timeless–it’s one of those names that suits just about anyone. It’s my very favorite of the Jul- names.
[name]Juliana[/name] - I much prefer this to [name]Julianna[/name]. It’s very pretty and I love the dainty, princessy vibe, but [name]Julia[/name] and [name]Juliet[/name] appeal to me more.
[name]Juliet[/name] - I’ve grown to like this a lot, but I would only ever use it as a MN. It sort of feels overrated as a FN to me, even though it is gorgeous.
[name]Violet[/name] - hands down, my very favorite! [name]Violet[/name] is in my own top four–I absolutely adore it. It’s so pretty and vintage and versatile, and I would love to meet a [name]Violet[/name] one day.
I think [name]Violet[/name] [name]Julia[/name] or [name]Violet[/name] [name]Juliana[/name] would be lovely, as well…
[name]Julia[/name] - It’s extremely boring and commonplace sounding to me. I don’t particularly like it, but there’s no real negative quality to it.
[name]Juliana[/name] - It sounds to fussy. Like someone tried to pretty-up [name]Julia[/name] and didn’t really succeed, but again, there’s no real negative quality to it.
[name]Juliet[/name] - MUCH prefer this. I’m a fan of it. However this spelling makes me think of [name]Romeo[/name] and [name]Juliet[/name], and I think [name]Juliet[/name] was incredibly childish and stupid to be frank. ([name]Romeo[/name] not much better, but I love the name so much regardless) [name]Juliet[/name] is a fine name, and I’d use it. I tend to prefer the [name]Juliette[/name] spelling, but [name]Juliet[/name] is refreshing to see as well. This is my favourite of your four. I’d love to meet a little [name]Juliet[/name].
[name]Violet[/name] - I don’t like this name. Mostly because my little brother could never say it right when he was younger, and he would always say “Violent”. So now that’s all I think of. It’s too aggressive sounding to me, I guess.
[name]Juliet[/name] is my number one from your list! I like it a lot. It’s not particularly common seeming to me either, I feel [name]Violet[/name] might be more common than [name]Juliet[/name], but again, you’d have to check the SSA list for your area if you’re in [name]America[/name].
[name]Hi[/name] there! Of the four names you listed, I’d have to say [name]Juliet[/name] is my personal favorite. It’s romantic, feminine and has a bright, pretty sound. I like [name]Julia[/name] a lot as well, it’s a classic, and you can’t go wrong with it. It’s just on the more popular side (both now and historically). I like [name]Violet[/name] but I feel that it’s very of-the-moment, spurred by celebrity usage. I prefer [name]Juliet[/name], which is similar in sound and style. I’m not a fan of [name]Julianna[/name]. It just feels like it’s trying too hard and isn’t as elegant as [name]Juliet[/name] or [name]Julia[/name]. [name]Hope[/name] that helps!
My two favourites are [name]Juliet[/name] and [name]Violet[/name]. They are both pretty and feminine. Not that [name]Julia[/name] and [name]Julianna[/name] aren’t, but I feel that in general they are more common names than [name]Juliet[/name] and [name]Violet[/name].
I immediately thought of using [name]Julia[/name] [name]Violet[/name] as her first and middle names. I think the combo sounds gorgeous and your get two of your favorites that way.
ETA: I also think that maybe [name]Violet[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] could be awesome as a combo.
I disagree with the person who said [name]Julia[/name] is boring - classic doesn’t mean boring! [name]Julia[/name] is simple and elegant, and it’s my favorite out of these - I love [name]Juliana[/name] and [name]Violet[/name] too, and like [name]Juliet[/name], but I don’t think you can go wrong with [name]Julia[/name].
Thank you so much everyone! I have completely eliminated [name]Juliana[/name]/[name]Julianna[/name] from my list.
I think my 2 favorite names are [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Juliet[/name], but [name]Julia[/name] isn’t far behind. I just love how [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Juliet[/name] are so simple but romantic and elegant at the same time.
Out of [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Juliet[/name], which is your favorite?
