honest opinions of Edith

I adore [name_f]Edie[/name_f] and go back and fourth about [name_f]Edith[/name_f]. What are your honest opinions about [name_f]Edith[/name_f]?

I absolutely adore. it! Such a sweet and classic name. I fell in love with it ever since [name_f]Cate[/name_f] Blanchett named her baby girl [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_f]Patricia[/name_f], and i cant get it out of my mind.

Adorable! I wish I was named that instead of my name haha
[name_m]Eddie[/name_m] sounds old fashioned on boys but just so cute on girls as well!

I’m not a fan of either [name_f]Edie[/name_f] or [name_f]Edith[/name_f], honestly. I’m not fully sure why though. They just seem harsh and cold…especially [name_f]Edith[/name_f]. It gives me a mean old lady vibe  it’s a shame…I want to like it, but I just don’t. Sorry :frowning: I know you said you wanted honest opinions, but I don’t want to come off as a [name_f]Debbie[/name_f] Downer on your parade.

Not a [name_f]Debbie[/name_f] Downer. I want honest opinions. Thank you.

Thank you, bellerose and Emmievis.

I love [name_f]Edie[/name_f], but [name_f]Edith[/name_f] does say “old lady” to me.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Edie[/name_f], hate [name_f]Edith[/name_f].

I can get behind [name_f]Edie[/name_f], but not so much [name_f]Edith[/name_f]. I am with some of the other previous posters in that [name_f]Edith[/name_f] just sound old to me. I know classic and vintage are in right now, but I think some names are good vintage and some are not. [name_f]Edith[/name_f] is not for me. If you’re on the fence about [name_f]Edith[/name_f], but like [name_f]Edie[/name_f], you might consider [name_f]Edeline[/name_f], [name_f]Edelie[/name_f], Edelia, [name_f]Edina[/name_f], or [name_f]Edana[/name_f]. =]

I think [name_f]Edie[/name_f] is cute and I normally love vintage names but [name_f]Edith[/name_f] doesn’t appeal to me for some reason.

Adorable!..

I love [name_f]Edith[/name_f]!

I’ve always wanted to be named [name_f]Edith[/name_f]. I think it’s lovely, demure, yet a little flirtatious (am I crazy?? perhaps…).

[name_f]Edith[/name_f] still sounds a little bit old lady like to me, but with vintage names on the uprise I think she’ll fit in perfectly with other girls. Also, I adore the nickname [name_f]Edie[/name_f] and think it is absolutely great. Go with [name_f]Edith[/name_f] if you like it!

I love [name_f]Edith[/name_f]! Go for it!

I love [name_f]Edith[/name_f] and [name_f]Edie[/name_f]. [name_f]Edith[/name_f] seems more of a bookworm while [name_f]Edie[/name_f] seems more lively, the life of a party. Great choice for a [name_u]Gemini[/name_u]. If you’re on the fence about [name_f]Edith[/name_f], I think you can go straight to [name_f]Edie[/name_f] though. I don’t think you need a longer version.

[name_f]Edith[/name_f] is such a cute name and has an old fashioned charm with it! [name_f]Edie[/name_f] is very pretty too. You could also consider [name_u]Eden[/name_u] too. If you like old fashioned names some other names could be:
[name_f]Ethel[/name_f]
[name_f]Mary[/name_f]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_f]Anne[/name_f]
[name_f]Edith[/name_f] is a great name! [name_u]Love[/name_u] it!

I love [name_f]Edith[/name_f], however, I do think that one really has to love it to bestow it on a child, it’s not a “compromise name”, for that it can quickly feel too old, clunky, heavy, etc. if you’re not totally in love. Does that make sense?

I think [name_f]Edie[/name_f] is very sweet, too, and can easily stand on it’s own.

[name_f]Edith[/name_f] is growing on me. I adore [name_f]Edie[/name_f], but [name_f]Edith[/name_f] is harsh to me. Also my great aunt [name_f]Edith[/name_f] was a hoarder and I remember visiting her when I was little. My personal connection makes [name_f]Edith[/name_f] scream old lady to me.

Thank you.

I love [name_f]Edeline[/name_f], have it on my middle name list. It’s a name that you never hear, even on this forum. Kind of surprised when you hear talk about [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], [name_f]Aveline[/name_f], etc. My created Anneline is very special to us, so that is in the top three.

I like [name_f]Edith[/name_f]. It’s vintage, but works well today.
