[name_m]Jasper[/name_m] is an honor name and I have had it on my middle name list for awhile. Thinking about moving it to the first name list. What are your honest opinions of [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]?

Think most people love jasper 
My first impression of it is [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] as in [name_m]Horace[/name_m] and [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] from 101 Dalmatians. Not a bad thing though!!! That’s just one of the only real-life associations I have with it. You don’t hear [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] much these days… I love so much about this name. It has a light, whispery sound (although the “per” ending sounds a bit harsh) and makes me think of a light gray color with gold, green, and turquoise specks (not sure why). I can see the name working on any age and for any profession, but it feels really artsy. I don’t think you could go wrong with this name

I like [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] a lot, but not nearly so much as I love [name_m]Caspar[/name_m]/[name_m]Casper[/name_m] and [name_m]Gaspard[/name_m]! I am thinking about [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] for my list, but [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]'s never held a flame to my beloved [name_m]Casper[/name_m], to me. I could see you with a [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], though, and I think ____ and [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] are adorable together!
I felt my son’s name and [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] were further off than many of the other favorites. Definitely my top choices fit much better. At least my opinion. I also prefer [name_m]Jack[/name_m] over [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]. [name_m]Jack[/name_m] honors several loved ones and as a bonus I love how it combines the beginning sounds of my name and my son’s name. It adds to the specialness. I adore [name_m]John[/name_m] but prefer [name_m]Jack[/name_m] because of this. I can easily see [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] being in my top 10 but it would not bypass my top 3.

I absolutely adore the name [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]. It’s one of my favourites.
It’s actually one those names that makes me cringe. I grew up in the South and have stereotypical redneck cousins from a town named [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], so I can’t hear it without thinking of that. I know there are towns named [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] in both [name_u]Tennessee[/name_u] and [name_f]Alabama[/name_f], and both fit the description (in my experience) of very right-wing, conservative southern towns. If you don’t live in the South, I’m sure it’s not a problem, but for me it’s a very negative association.
