@bostonelle - wow. I thought there was a line between ‘honest’ and just down right mean? Yes, I asked for an honest opinion, BUT, I meant more concerning the flow of the names together - NOT what you think of each individual name. To be perfectly honest with you, I couldn’t care less about whether or not you find [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] are ugly - obviously they are on my list for a reason.
Now, for some corrections in your claims;
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] DOES stand for something for me - [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] is a Shakespearean name, and I love [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m], and, my parents wanted to name me [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] at first, but were talked out of it (back in 1995 before [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] was popular), and my mum has always said she loves nn [name_f]Livvy[/name_f], which I also love. I couldn’t find a middle I liked for [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f], so I used it with [name_f]Alice[/name_f].
[name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] was a name BEFORE [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], and a lot of European queens were named it. I’d understand if it was a name that was completely unheard of, but I don’t understand how you think [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] is just made up?
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f] (this spelling) holds a personal connection for me, AND it’s the original one.
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] is a family name for me.
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] have very nice meanings ([name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] - wished for child, [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] - beloved child), and that’s why I chose them
Lady would be a nn for [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] for family members to use - if she chooses to be Lady in school or [name_f]Addie[/name_f] in school, then that’s up to her, I’m not going to sway her either way (even though I’m not expecting)
Popularity clearly is not an issue for me, and again, I’m more concerned with what everyone thinks of the names in terms of how well they fit together as a combination, not whether or not you think a name is too popular or ugly.
PS: I know I asked for honesty, but it’s sad that you aren’t mature/sensitive enough to be honest WITHOUT being rude. Calling names ugly is considered rude, and the shouting (all CAPS typing is shouting) isn’t really necessary, is it? Is there not a way to go about saying your opinions without crossing the line of rudeness?
