What are your thoughts on [name_u]Ariel[/name_u] (air-E-uhl, not are-E-elle). I like it, but I don’t know if it’s list worthy.
Also, which do you think is better: [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], or [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Kerensa[/name_f]? I love [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]'s spunkiness, but can’t get [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Kerensa[/name_f] off my mind for some reason…
I prefer [name_f]Arielle[/name_f] if it’s for a girl. And I like [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Kerensa[/name_f], primarily because I’ve been on nameberry too long and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is almost too predictable.
I’m more of a fan of the [name_u]Ariel[/name_u] spelling than [name_f]Arielle[/name_f] , especially if you want it to be pronounced the way that you do. Personally, I’m not a fan of that pronounciation (it could be a little nasal, or like the [name_u]Arial[/name_u] font or aerial silks), or the fact that everyone tends to think it’s a name for the mermaid.
I like [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]. It’s tough, and there are many nn possibilities.
I really like [name_u]Ariel[/name_u]. Between the mermaid and the [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] character, it’s got a very smooth, elemental feel to it. I think it rolls off the tongue really pleasantly. Like pp, I prefer the [name_u]Ariel[/name_u] spelling–it’s more streamlined, and looks less…trying too hard to be feminine. I know it’s a male name, but I think we can safely say it’s “gone to the girls” thanks to the mermaid.
And I like [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Kerensa[/name_f] best! One of the nice things about a popular name like [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] is that you can pair a very unusual MN with it without sounding too crazy.
I like [name_u]Ariel[/name_u]; as a child of the 80s/90s, she will always be the [name_m]Little[/name_m] Mermaid to me (I also prefer your spelling - [name_f]Arielle[/name_f] looks unnecessarily fussy).
I’m very tired of [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]/[name_f]Sophia[/name_f], so I say be a rebel and just go with [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] or [name_f]Kerensa[/name_f].
or go with [name_f]Athena[/name_f], which also means [name_f]Wisdom[/name_f],
or go with the less usual variants like:
[name_f]Sophronia[/name_f]
Sophonisba etc
I actually prefer [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Kerensa[/name_f], even though I love the name [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and don’t like [name_f]Kerensa[/name_f], somehow I’m just more taken with [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Kerensa[/name_f]!
I think [name_u]Ariel[/name_u] is really pretty, I like both [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Kerensa[/name_f], at first I went straight to [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] as i really like the name [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] but after saying both combinations in my head I think [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Kerensa[/name_f] actually sound nicer and rolls of the tongue really nicely.
I feel like [name_u]Ariel[/name_u] is so underused. It has such a great meaning.
I love [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Kerensa[/name_f]! [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is too popular and [name_f]Kerensa[/name_f] brings an elegant flare to [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]'s youthfulness.
