Loving the more unusual combos at the moment, it would be great to get your thoughts!
I heard the names [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] and [name_f]Posey[/name_f] at Daycare, and I can’t decide if these are too out-there or a beautiful mix of cool, hippy, whimsical and pretty.
[name_f]Delphi[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Posey[/name_f] [name_f]Eilish[/name_f]/[name_f]Posey[/name_f] [name_u]August[/name_u] are two combinations I love. I’m interested in hearing any other beautiful combos you may have though!
FYI I’m a British [name_u]Berry[/name_u] based in Australia- and although I think these names would work in [name_m]Oz[/name_m], I’m not sure the more conservative Brits would appreciate them.
[name_f]Delphi[/name_f] is on our list too. My OH started loving [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] which I find a little too sweet next to our daughter [name_f]Zelda[/name_f]. I would always shorten it to [name_f]Delphi[/name_f], so that would be her name as we don’t do nicknames. If you are not opposed to nicknames you could use [name_f]Delphine[/name_f], which is a well known name, as her official name. I think [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] is fine on its own though.
As for [name_f]Posey[/name_f], I hear it a lot in [name_f]England[/name_f]. It seems like it is fastly replacing [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]. I can understand how ‘conservative Brits’ would be against [name_f]Posey[/name_f] it it sounds rather trendy. But it was often used as nickname for [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] in the past. So an official name might appease the ‘conservative Brits’ if you care about other people’s opinions.
I think [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] and [name_f]Posey[/name_f] are both really lovely names. I like them both on their own or as nicknames for longer names. As well as for [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] or [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Posey[/name_f] could be a short form for [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] or [name_f]Persephone[/name_f].
I love the name [name_f]Posey[/name_f], but honestly, I’ve never understood the love for [name_f]Delphi[/name_f]. It just sounds so incomplete to me, and I can’t get past the fact that the spelling seems a little awkward imo.
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Delphi[/name_f]! Its much cuter than [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]
I do think that [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] is equally good though because a) people may think [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] is a nn for [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] and b) [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] nn Phin/[name_u]Finn[/name_u] is sooo adorable!
Still, [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] is amazing
I dont like [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] ends in the same sound [name_f]Eve[/name_f] starts with
[name_f]Posey[/name_f] is cute! I prefer [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] but [name_f]Posey[/name_f] is a lovely adorable name, and I love nn Sey
I would go for [name_f]Posey[/name_f] [name_u]August[/name_u]- I usually love [name_f]Eilish[/name_f] but its too similar to [name_f]Posey[/name_f] imo
I think both are lovely, but I prefer [name_f]Delphi[/name_f]. It’s actually my cousin’s name, and she’s a [name_u]Brit[/name_u] based in [name_m]Oz[/name_m] - how about that?! It’s strong but sweet, whereas [name_f]Posey[/name_f] is just sweet to me.
I know exactly what you mean about the spelling! [name_f]Do[/name_f] you prefer [name_f]Delphy[/name_f] better? That might make its way on to the list instead…
I like [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]. On its own… I think it’s fine, but reminds me too much to the oracle of [name_f]Delphi[/name_f]. Not a bad association though. I went to high school with a girl called Delfi, btw, seems to suit her just fine. I really like [name_f]Posey[/name_f].
Honestly, I’m not really a fan of either. I do prefer [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] with the nickname [name_f]Delphi[/name_f], as the spelling looks incomplete to me as well. I’ve never been a fan of [name_f]Posey[/name_f], there’s just something unappealing about it to me.
