Hey everyone! I am a recently married 23 year old who wonāt be having any babies anytime soon, but I am a planner! These are my favorite names so farā¦honest opinions please! I am so indecisive! I love names that are not so common yet not strangeā¦ Last name is Schultz if that helps
BOY:
[name_m]Declan[/name_m]- [name_f]Love[/name_f] this name but I am worried about it being pronounced as De-CLAN?
[name_u]Porter[/name_u]
[name_m]Tanner[/name_m]
[name_u]Finn[/name_u]
[name_u]Elliott[/name_u]
[name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u]
[name_u]Barrett[/name_u]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]- might be too formal with a middle name like [name_m]Charles[/name_m]ā¦
**His middle name would be [name_m]Charles[/name_m] after his dad and grandfather
GIRL:
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] (or Adeleine) I love this name! My great great great grandmotherās name was [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]. However, I am worried that it would be pronounced [name_f]Adalynn[/name_f]ā¦
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]- It is my great grandmothers name however my parents hate it!
[name_u]Piper[/name_u]
[name_u]Harper[/name_u]- might be too common
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
**Optional middle names for her would be either [name_f]May[/name_f] (with a Y after my maiden name) or [name_f]Claire[/name_f]/Clairene (my great grandmother is named Clairene).
[name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] Schultz - I donāt think you need to worry about the pronunciation. Most people know it.
[name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] Schultz - Handsome, and has a really great flow, probably my number one favorite for you.
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] Schultz - I like this, and I also like [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] or [name_m]Phineas[/name_m], with the nickname [name_u]Finn[/name_u].
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] Schultz - You can always go with a nickname like [name_m]Hal[/name_m] or [name_m]Hank[/name_m] if it feels too proper.
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] Schultz - So pretty! Once someone hears the correct pronunciation, theyāll get it.
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] Schultz - I really like [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], itās definitely coming back into fashion.
The others, Iām not a fan of for various reasons. [name_u]Porter[/name_u] reminds me of āportly.ā [name_u]Harper[/name_u] is becoming fairly common, but if youāre worried about popularity, you DEFINITELY donāt want to use [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] or [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]. I canāt even tell you how many little Ellies and Maddies I hear on the playground when I take my kids.
GIRLS:
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Summer[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] - I think [name_f]Summer[/name_f] is a pretty R-ending alternative to [name_f]Harper[/name_f] and [name_f]Piper[/name_f], and itās less used than either of those.
I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_u]Finn[/name_u] despite its popularity. I would use a longer form though, [name_u]Finley[/name_u], [name_m]Finnian[/name_m], [name_m]Phineas[/name_m], [name_m]Finnegan[/name_m]ā¦
Of your boys names I think [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] is by far the best. I really like that name, as too me it is at once cheeky, sophisticated, masculine and sensitive. Really attractive. Second choices are [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_u]Finn[/name_u], which I like both. I am not at all a fan of surname or occupational names, so [name_u]Porter[/name_u], [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u], [name_m]Tanner[/name_m], [name_u]Everett[/name_u] and [name_u]Barrett[/name_u] score very low for me. Sorry.
Of your girls names I like [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] the most. I also really like [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], but as a nickname for:
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Elinor[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleonore[/name_f]
[name_f]Helena[/name_f]
Of your middle names for girls, I think [name_f]Claire[/name_f]'s the winner.
My overall favourites are:
[name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] ā[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]ā
Congrats on your marriage. Your list is beautiful, very classy.
The stand out choices to me are:
[name_f]Adaline[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] (I donāt think people will mispronounce [name_f]Adaline[/name_f], it looks the same as [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] and thatās so popular)ā¦
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] (also [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Elsa[/name_f], [name_f]Elke[/name_f], [name_f]Emily[/name_f], [name_f]Elletta[/name_f] or [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] with the nn of [name_f]Ellie[/name_f])
[name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] (unusual first name with classic middle)
I donāt love all of your occupation names, but they [name_f]DO[/name_f] tend to make nice strong masculine namesā¦ I can see why you like themā¦
Here are some more occupation names:
[name_u]Elliot[/name_u] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] is absolutely stunning!! [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is another favorite of mine.
From your girls, I love [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is gorgeous. [name_u]Piper[/name_u] and [name_u]Harper[/name_u] are cute, but a little too common compared to your boys list which are all classic, and have that recognizable but not common quality that is hard to come by.
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] - [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t worry about pronunciation. Most people will say this name correctly.
[name_m]Declan[/name_m] - See above.
[name_u]Everett[/name_u] - I like this one a lot.
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] - I love [name_m]Henry[/name_m]! Goes wonderfully with [name_m]Charles[/name_m] and isnāt too formal. [name_m]Hank[/name_m] is a cute nickname.
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] - Only if youāre in [name_u]America[/name_u]. If youāre in Australia or [name_f]England[/name_f], this is too popular.
These should be outā¦
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] - Too nicknamey. Seems dated.
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] - Doesnāt flow well with [name_m]Charles[/name_m]. Plus, itās a nickname, which is a pet hate of mine.
[name_u]Harper[/name_u] - [name_m]Way[/name_m] too popular and trendy at the moment. Plus, itās an occupation name (see below).
[name_f]Madeline[/name_f] - [name_m]Way[/name_m] too popular. I know so many Maddies.
[name_u]Piper[/name_u] - I really dislike āoccupationā names.
[name_u]Porter[/name_u] - See above.
[name_m]Tanner[/name_m] - See above.
I agree mostly with [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]. I disagree on
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] (It does sound too nicknamey, but with a formal name it would be fine with me.)
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] I like this one.
[name_u]Harper[/name_u] I like To Kill A Mockingbird.
[name_f]Madeline[/name_f] (I donāt mind this one, although popularity may be an issue.)
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] #106 and rising in United States. Probably top 100 and maybe even top 50 by the time you get around to using it.
I agree with [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] about the rest.
Good [name_m]Luck[/name_m]!
LOL my last name is Scholze and on our list was [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]. Since Shultz is a one syllable name it makes sense to go for 3 syllable firsts and 2 syllable middles. [name_f]Ada[/name_f] and [name_f]Elle[/name_f] are very sweet nn. Also names with A, L work well with the last name for whatever reason.
[name_m]Declan[/name_m], [name_u]Finn[/name_u] and [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] are very nice choices.
From your list I like [name_u]Finn[/name_u] (though only as a nickname for [name_m]Finnegan[/name_m] or [name_m]Finnian[/name_m]), [name_u]Everett[/name_u] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] are lovely. As are [name_m]Finnegan[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] and [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] if you like them.
For the girls, [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] is the only name I like. I want to like [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], but it still feels too geriatric for me. [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]May[/name_f] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] are nice.
[name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] is a great name and combination, and I think [name_m]Declan[/name_m] is familiar enough to avoid the mispronunciation issues. Itās my favorite of your choices!
[name_u]Elliot[/name_u], [name_u]Porter[/name_u] and [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] are also nice and sound great with [name_m]Charles[/name_m].
I do think [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] sounds nice, but it is a bit formal and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is becoming increasingly popular
GIRL
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] is a beautiful name (one of my top choices), and sounds great with either [name_f]May[/name_f] or [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. This is my favorite.
[name_f]Madeline[/name_f] is beautiful as well, but it will inevitably be shortened to [name_f]Maddy[/name_f], and sheāll share that with several others in her class.
[name_u]Piper[/name_u] is cute; Iād use [name_u]Piper[/name_u] [name_f]May[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] sounds adorable, but very young. Itās also quite popular if youāre concerned with that.
