Hey everyone! I am a recently married 23 year old who wonā€™t be having any babies anytime soon, but I am a planner! These are my favorite names so farā€¦honest opinions please! I am so indecisive! I love names that are not so common yet not strangeā€¦ Last name is Schultz if that helps :smile:

BOY:

  • [name_m]Declan[/name_m]- [name_f]Love[/name_f] this name but I am worried about it being pronounced as De-CLAN?

  • [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] (or Adeleine) I love this name! My great great great grandmotherā€™s name was [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]. However, I am worried that it would be pronounced [name_f]Adalynn[/name_f]ā€¦
  • [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] (or [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f])
  • [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]- It is my great grandmothers name however my parents hate it!
  • [name_u]Piper[/name_u]
  • [name_u]Harper[/name_u]- might be too common
  • [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]

**Optional middle names for her would be either [name_f]May[/name_f] (with a Y after my maiden name) or [name_f]Claire[/name_f]/Clairene (my great grandmother is named Clairene).

[name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] Schultz - Handsome, and has a really great flow, probably my number one favorite for you.
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] Schultz - I like this, and I also like [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] or [name_m]Phineas[/name_m], with the nickname [name_u]Finn[/name_u].
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] Schultz - You can always go with a nickname like [name_m]Hal[/name_m] or [name_m]Hank[/name_m] if it feels too proper.

[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] Schultz - So pretty! Once someone hears the correct pronunciation, theyā€™ll get it.
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] Schultz - I really like [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], itā€™s definitely coming back into fashion.

The others, Iā€™m not a fan of for various reasons. [name_u]Porter[/name_u] reminds me of ā€œportly.ā€ [name_u]Harper[/name_u] is becoming fairly common, but if youā€™re worried about popularity, you DEFINITELY donā€™t want to use [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] or [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]. I canā€™t even tell you how many little Ellies and Maddies I hear on the playground when I take my kids.

Of your boys names I think [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] is by far the best. I really like that name, as too me it is at once cheeky, sophisticated, masculine and sensitive. Really attractive. Second choices are [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_u]Finn[/name_u], which I like both. I am not at all a fan of surname or occupational names, so [name_u]Porter[/name_u], [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u], [name_m]Tanner[/name_m], [name_u]Everett[/name_u] and [name_u]Barrett[/name_u] score very low for me. Sorry.

Of your girls names I like [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] the most. I also really like [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], but as a nickname for:

[name_u]Elliot[/name_u] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] is absolutely stunning!! [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is another favorite of mine.
From your girls, I love [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is gorgeous. [name_u]Piper[/name_u] and [name_u]Harper[/name_u] are cute, but a little too common compared to your boys list which are all classic, and have that recognizable but not common quality that is hard to come by.

I agree mostly with [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]. I disagree on
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] (It does sound too nicknamey, but with a formal name it would be fine with me.)
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] I like this one.
[name_u]Harper[/name_u] I like To Kill A Mockingbird.
[name_f]Madeline[/name_f] (I donā€™t mind this one, although popularity may be an issue.)
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] #106 and rising in United States. Probably top 100 and maybe even top 50 by the time you get around to using it.

LOL my last name is Scholze and on our list was [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]. Since Shultz is a one syllable name it makes sense to go for 3 syllable firsts and 2 syllable middles. [name_f]Ada[/name_f] and [name_f]Elle[/name_f] are very sweet nn. Also names with A, L work well with the last name for whatever reason.
[name_m]Declan[/name_m], [name_u]Finn[/name_u] and [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] are very nice choices.

[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] is a beautiful name (one of my top choices), and sounds great with either [name_f]May[/name_f] or [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. This is my favorite.

[name_f]Madeline[/name_f] is beautiful as well, but it will inevitably be shortened to [name_f]Maddy[/name_f], and sheā€™ll share that with several others in her class.

[name_u]Piper[/name_u] is cute; Iā€™d use [name_u]Piper[/name_u] [name_f]May[/name_f]

[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] sounds adorable, but very young. Itā€™s also quite popular if youā€™re concerned with that.
